The screen on my laptop keeps flickering, occasionally the whole screen goes blank. Ive gotten it repaired many times but still keeps happening, any one have a clue whats going on?

You said you had it fixed may times before? It could be a loose cable that is connected to either your motherboard or to the screen itself. It could also be the refresh rate to which your resolution is set to.

Yeah loose cable or possibly something shorting inside the computer screen. The T.V does this when one pixel goes out so who knows.

it is also possible that the video card on it is going bad. The best way to check it out is to attach an external monitor to it.

Yeah, I would attach an external monitor and see if the problem is still there. If the external monitor works correctly, then it's safe to assume that it's a problem with the screen rather than the graphics.

Before messing with an external monitor, I would start with wiping and re-installing the latest video card drivers. If the problem persists, check your power/hibernation settings to make sure nothing funky is set there.

You say you've had it fixed before... what was done/replaced? I honestly would purchase a new laptop before replacing a panel in one.

Its either a Cable, LCD Inverter, or the LCD itself.

Is this an HP Laptop by chance?
