Does anybody have any professional tips on how to help my forum get more members? If so, then please reply. Thanks. 🙂

Well, this whole forum (Promotion Tricks & Help) is about trying to get more members. Try looking through this forum for tips; the same question has been asked at least 100 times in this forum.

There really isn't a definitive answer, otherwise we'd all have millions of members. But consider how your forum is unique or superior to other forums. Have you advertised? If yes, then where? Have you made an attempt to generate discussion? If not, why?

Use promotion forums and advertise and advertise.

Thanks for the tips! I've been using a post exchange topic, and have made a basic promotion topic and put it in my signature, and I plan putting search engines on it. Thanks for the tips!

This all sounds like at FP, which is not enough, in fact, FP's userbase is quite small compared to other webmaster forums. Have you considered your niche and where they go? I assume the IslandX forum is yours, so note that FP is full of webmasters/admins who want to get members to their forums. Do they mainly want to help you or help themselves? Probably themselves, which is pretty much reality. Have a read of the FP Blog: blog.php and you may get a few tips there.

It's truly about advertising in an area that would enjoy whatever it is you're providing, if you're running a professional wrestling forum that you want to find a website that has a professional wrestling appeal to it, this is not to say that you won't garner a following just about anywhere where there is members but I think it'll be more profitable if you advertise specifically on an area where it holds strong appeal.

My forum doesn't really belong in a category, its just a general discussion forum with some unique feel to it, but you do have a point.
