Your Forum Review

First Impressions & Appearance - (Out of 25)

At a first glance, and quick scroll around, Any Videos looks remarkable. The skin is very sleek, and everything from link colors, background colors, all seem to work perfectly, together.

Your banner has very flashy text. But, it seems to really fade, being so empty around the text. Maybe add some images, such as film stock, camera equipment, or just have the font size a little larger. The color and text choice,, really does look amazing, as is, though.

My one gripe, from a first impression, is while glancing around, I'm confused on wether this is a Movie Discussion forum, or a Youtube Video Discussion forum? It's very hard to tell, especially when the forum title is vague, and the board titles and descriptions don't help out much either.

Site Layout - (Out of 20)

Everything looks top-notch, in most cases, though, you really should have a better category title for the top category, "About" really doesn't say much, especially when it's one of your most important sections on the forum.

I'm not really liking where you have it placed the Afiliates Scroller. Affiliates are partnered forums, but really have nothing to do with the forum itself. I would even go as far as making an Affiliates board all to itself, and having it at the bottom of the forum body.

The Videos section, is kinda confusing. I don't know if you're talking about "theatrical movies" or "youtube videos". Seems others are confused too, since nothing has ever been posted in 2 out of the 4 boards in that section. And movies are always the talk of any forum. You're gonna have to make your Board descriptions a little more explanatory, so members know exactly what to post in each section, and what content you're looking for to be discussed in there.

You're off-topic section seems to be set up nicely, although, "forum games" should always be your last board in this section, unless it's a sub-board in another section. Those tend to draw in too much activity, away from the more important sections. So, it's usually best to have those last.

Statistics and Activity - (Out of 25)

Date Forum Opened: 8 of June 2009 <---- WOW! You must be the forum of the future. 😀 I'm guessing that's a typo, and it's cool. 😉 Your posts and member count seems to be rising pretty steadily, and your daily active member list is something to be proud of at the moment.

But .... But .... The problem is, ALL activity has found it's way into the Off-Topic sectios. Almost 40% of the forum post total, are in the General Discussion Board; compared to almost 12% in the entire 'Videos' Board. Now, it's standard for that section to be the most active on most forums, but, you do have a serious problem starting early off in your forum, that you need to notice, now. Noone's talking about "Videos", at all.

It just always shocks me to see admins make a forum, but doesn't lead the way to activity by creating topics, in section "they created" for the forum. You need to encourage discussions in the Videos Section. By making GOOD topics, that any member can take aprt in. I can come up with about 30 off the top of my head for that section.

Staff Moderation - (Out of 15)

This is where your "A" game comes in. You've managed to not instinctly make each new member staff, just for guarantee'd traffic, like i see alot. You've got you, and one other member as a Global Moderator. Very Nice. Not overstaffed, and seems someone will be watching over the forum. In time, you will need to increase your staff, but, for now, you're right on target.

But, for every Pro, there's a Con. You two, as staff, as I've said before, it's your responsibility to show members the way. Get the other, less active, more important sections of your forum up in the discussion. It's your forum's theme, and it's just sitting there. You both need to brainstorm, and just get something in those sections. Once you open the gates, topics, and discussions will come flooding in.

Spelling and Grammar - (Out of 10)

Nothing I can see as far as posting goes. But, there are some grammar mistakes across the forum main page. Not too noticeable, but, if you want professionalism, you'll want to correct them.

Be aware of the latest forum updates; and be sure to read the rules and guidelines before posting. The semi-colon spearates differnt subjects, within the same sentence.

categorys .... should be categories, when plural.

Any Sports Discussion Put in here. You could go with either a "?" or a "," to seperate this sentence, between Discussion and Put.

Aside from those, I would strongly advise that you actually look at ALL your board titles, and board descriptions. And figure out how they could grab your attention, as a meber, and a guests.

Final Remarks:

I really , really like your forum. Don't take this review as all fact, it's just my opinion on things that can be done to improve it overall, especially for the community, and to help generate more activity across the whole forum.

What was most liked about the website/forums:

The skin, and design. The forum seemed to have anice set-up, and organization; aside from some sections that seemed misplaced

What was disliked most about the website/forums:

No activity in the Forum's themed section. I'm just always suprised to see admins not attempt to bring life to these sections.

How could I get you (The Reviewer) to join my website?

I've actually considered joining before I took up this review requests. But, I'm going to need to be clear on what the forum is about, and I need to see more activity outside the off-topic boards. I can get those from almost every forum I'm already a member on.

You do have a great forum in the making, just don't let off-topic misguide the direction of what you "really" want your forum to be about. With more advertising, and a little encouragement getting members in other sections; you'll get the forum you want, and hopefully become the next BlockBuster! I wish you the Best of Luck.
