Anybody know of Last.fm?

I went out with my compeer tonight and he recommended me a website to visit:

He told me that it's a website related to music, that you put in your music preferences and it gives you a playlist based on your recommendations.

I just got home about 20 minutes ago and just 5 minutes ago created the account (profile).

I'm just curious if there is anybody out there who uses it (or has used it).

I need some guidance into how to navigate the website.

I used to use it at school when Playlist.com was blocked. It's a great place to put your original music up and get noticed though.

No...Last.fm is free.

But why use it to stream songs when you can use Google to keep them permanently? :shrug:
