Check your transactions, because I woke up to find this pleasant fraud charge:

Thank God I'm not liable for fraud charges, but it still sucks to cancel my card.

I don't see why this would effect everyone else on the forum? You must of used some form of dodgy site or atm.

Just wanted to warn anybody who uses one is all. You can't be too careful.

I've never had anyone fraud anything through Paypal or my Visa. 🙂 It's silly how people do that kind of thing though as they get in trouble in the long run.

I would flip out if there was $360 missing from my account. I'd be on the phone with my bank in a split second.

Not those in third world countries...

Holy crap! This is one of those times when I'm thankful that I don't have PayPal or a credit card.

A few months ago a local chain of walmarts had an issue like this, anyone who had a walmart credit card or pre-paid card (mainly employees) were targeted and had several fraudulent charges on their cards. I had a prepaid card and it happened to me, I IMMEDIATELY upgraded to a secure checking account. This stuff sucks, sorry it happened to you but I'm glad you weren't held liable.

What bank do you use?

I use Rockland Trust, it's local to eastern Massachusetts. It's funny though, just three days before this my card was locked because of suspicious activity after I renewed a domain on Godaddy.

I think Australia is good with their fraud.. I have not heard many stories lately

Unfortunately fraud can happen on bank accounts, most of the big banks have things in place to stop it, but some determined low lifes get through!

I once had over £600 spent on my account. Luckily my bank were very good and I had it back in a matter of days, but its still not nice.

Hope you get it sorted out quickly.

Thanks, and I did. They had it resolved yesterday which was great, only two business days to do it. I'm glad it wasn't as much as what happened to you though.

True that, details on fraud? Country you live in? Bank you use, or where you last used it?
Would you like his social security number and home address too?

Just kidding 😛

Haha

Last place I used it was for work at an electrical supply store here in Massachusetts. No flippin' clue how they get ahold of my information, but now I'll be even more careful than before.

My brother had a fraudulent charge from Best Buy, a 30-some dollar purchase. Had to cancel his card and file a fraud thing. He got his card from a local credit union, so it's funny that yours happened and you got your card from a local bank too...

I'm not concerned at all about it being a local bank, they have to play by the same regulations as the bigger banks. What's nice is that both builders I do work for use the same bank, so no waiting for checks to clear.
