I don't have alienware but can tell you that those dudes are beasts. 🙂
They cost you fortune but if you are a hardcore gamer, then its definitely worth it. I won't spend money on it if I would use it to surf internet etc 😉
I moved this topic. So, I don't have one, but have heard there massive. If you don't game a lot, I'd say don't go for it, but if your a hardcore gamer, more power to ya.
My friend has an Alienware laptop that cost him $1000 and my HP Pavilion Elite desktop still loads Starcraft 2 faster than him. I suggest a desktop Alienware if you get one.
I would never, ever buy an Alienware. You can end up paying twice as much for an Alienware than you will for a custom built system with the same, if not even better specs.
If you want to spend $10,000 on a computer that you should be spending far less on, then buy an Alienware. If you actually want to get your money's worth then do some research, order all of the parts, and put it together yourself. If you're too lazy to do that then there are plenty of people on the internet that can help you pick out the parts, and probably someone or a retailer in your area that will put it together for you, for a fee.
Another thing about Alienware is that they tempt you to buy things that you'll never need, like 12GB of memory or a 2TB hard drive, because they know people who don't know squat about computers will be drawn to the bigger numbers. So not only are you overpaying, but you're overpaying for stuff you don't even need.
Seriously, you can build a good gaming rig that'll last you plenty of time for ~$2,000. But hey, if you want to blow $10,000 rather than take a little bit of effort to save some money then that's your own prerogative, I suppose.
Not all Alienware Desktops cost 10,000 there are some which costs under 2000-4000 dollars which could probably play a lot of games on High or Medium settings.
One of the advantages to buying a computer made by Alienware, Acer, HP, and other brands is it comes with a warranty and technical support if your computer breaks which is sometimes not available or poor if you hire some guy off Craigslist to build your computer or a local computer store which only have 1-2 employees.

Warranties are nice, but if you get a faulty piece of hardware you can always replace it for another (depends on where you order it from, of course). Yeah, Alienware and other brands offer extended warranties (almost always at a significant extra cost, by the way), which I do admit are nice to have just in case, but I wouldn't say it makes buying from such a brand worth it.
