I keep trying but it keeps failing with "an error occurred".
Undoubtedly because everyone is trying to download it. 😛
Anyone here managed to get a successful download yet? 😉
I started my download 3 seconds after Apple released iOS7.
It was downloading really fast. Within minutes it had failed.

Trying to download Mac OS X 10.8.5 update now.
That's failing too. Seems Apple is on it's knees LOL!
I give up...will try again tomorrow (or later on tonight).

What I don't see is why Apple doesn't upgrade this service. This happens every year and Apple knows people want to download iOS 7 when it comes out!

There's no way to avoid it. The servers are overloaded and thousands downloading at the same time will put strain on the data center.

This. It is a nightmare for them, yet it is super hard to avoid.

Mine is basically downloaded, it is about to begin installation.

I just installed it on my iPad 4 🙂

So far, it isn't too bad.

Then you have multiple around the world. Multiple in the US, multiple in Europe and Apple connects you to a server nearest to you and one which isn't overloaded.

iOS 7 is now installed on my iPad 4th Gen WiFi + Cellular 64GB! 🙂
Took 3-4 hours on attempt number 5. Wasted lots of internet data.

Mine went fine in first attempt. Very happy with it so far, but I don't feel they have stuck to the promised flat design 100%

The main issue is they have a good network that easily copes well all year around but have a massive spike each year when an iOS update is out. More datacenters and servers are not really an answer as for the other 364 days of the year, they are not needed when the usage is normal or at a level the current infrastructure can handle. That means either they run alot more servers in the datacenters than they need all year round or have equipment sitting idle all year until it is needed next year.

If you want something straight after launch, you should expect it to take longer or have some issues. Same as if you want a new game on launch day, you should expect shops to sell out pretty fast. In my opinion these are things you have to accept if you insist on being one of the first to get their hands on the latest stuff.

i downloaded the new iOS 7 first time no problem both on iPhone 5 and iPad 3 so far i like it little not sure how be like so give it a week or so and check out all new changes Apple have done, so far been hearing problem downloading it but no matter how big the company is you will have download issue because value people liking download update. I also been told problems with iPhone 5s with finger print technology this sound about right really because don't see what will solve really but that me.

Even when Apple releases updates this happens! So it would be useful!

Mine went fine the first time.
Although hate it for being slow and full of bugs.
Design is nice though.

It's been stuck like this for hours 🙁

Do you think I'm doing something wrong 🙁

It took me hours to get it but i did 😀
Im so impressed with Apple, still pushing to make changes 🙂 I love it. It really made complex things easier. I don't have any problems with it yet 😀 Good job apple!

See, I've had the beta for months now, so I haven't had the instinctual "Got to update, got to update"...

I updated my iPad Mini a week or so back.
