An GDI affiliate contacted me on Facebook wants me to join, but it cost $10 a month for a Domain name like .com, .ws and hosting which seems kind of expensive.

I saw a video on Website.ws for everyone you refer to join you get $1 a month as long as they subscribe, and you can earn money from their referrers up to 5 layers. It sounds like a Multi-level-marketing affiliate program.

It also seems very hard to make cash and promote GDI since there are better hosting and domain registration companies like HostGator, HawkHosts, Bluehost, and GoDaddy. Plus, Host Gator, Blue Host, and GoDaddy all pay their affiliate more for each referral.

The Global Domains International "Income for Life" opportunity combines a complete domain package with the ability to earn commissions and bonuses for referring other customers. The $10 a month package includes .WS domain registration, hosting, 10 email addresses, URL forwarding, and an easy-to-use online WebSite builder that will allow you to get a professional looking WebSite online as quickly as possible. Every new affiliate receives a seven-day FREE trial!

As an affiliate, you earn commissions and become eligible for bonuses for every new affiliate you refer; you also earn commissions on every new affiliate your referrals refer, every new affiliate your referrals' referrals refer, and so on for five levels. The picture of a Ferrari Sports Cars, expensive house, palm trees, and two casually dress guys wearing sun glasses on http://website.ws/gditraffic/show

make me feel un-easy like other programs which promise huge payout, but you have to pay 10 dollars a month for web hosting and a domain which is kind of expensive, so I don't know how affiliates can convince people to buy into this when there are way better web hosting and domain bundles by Host Gator, 1and1, Go Daddy, and BlueHost.

I'm not sure if GDI is legit, but some of the reviews on http://www.imreportcard.com/biz-opps/gl ... ernational

are good and bad.

I got this feeling some of the good reviews might be written by people closely associated with the company like Affiliate Marketers, and maybe GDI employees.

GDI does not a pyramid scheme, but a low paying multi-level-marketing program which you need to really work hard to make a decent amount of cash from.

At least if you earn nothing you still get low-end 1GBstorage 10GB bandwidth per month web hosting package which can only host HTML sites and nothing fancy like forums, blogs, Content management systems like Joomla, Drupal, etc from what I read, GDI web hosting also comes with a web based site builder, but I read it is pretty limited. You also get a domain name bundled with web hosting for 10 dollars a month or 120 dollars a year. I think it can be rather hard to promote a 10 dollar a month web hosting and domain package when there are better alternatives like Host Gator or GoDaddy.

I also read the savvy web master never have their domain name or web hosting runned by the same company since you are screwed if the company mistreat you since tranfering domain names can be a big hassle when your web host is slow or constantly down.

I rather get the Baby plan at Host Gator for 7.95 which include

* UNLIMITED Domains
* UNLIMITED Disk Space
* UNLIMITED Bandwidth
* Shared SSL Certificate

http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml

instead of using GDI Web hosting and domain.

Plus, if I decide to switch web hosting companies, I can still be a Host Gator Affiliate since it is free to all members, and no web hosting subscription is required to promote Host Gator's products.

This review sums up my feeling on GDI pretty well after reading a few reviews.

GDI is just another low paying MLM program

I was a member of Global Domains International and had a busines name. I had a few reasons for leaving the program.

1. The email . ws got blocked by most email providers, so my emails were not going through and when they did, they ended up in the recipient's spam/junk folder. I realized .com's are the best.

2. The program was difficult to promote because there were no free products, well at least not when I was a member. Infinity Downline offers 1000's of dollars in products and this is why I am in the business and to stay. Information can be found on my blog.

3. The website templates were nice; however, the limit was 10 pages and was promoting an online store, so I needed separate categories. GDI is meant for a small website promotion.

4. The site builder was not flexible at all. I suggest you get a blog.

and 5. It is a MLM Pyramid program, so the person at the top gets most of the money. This is mostly why I decided to be in Infinity Downline, because it replaced MLM and you're paid member to member 100%. Plus you get 2 pass up referrals per team member, so the money you make is significantly more than GDI.

If you are considering GDI, it's $10 a month, so you don't lose anything when you try the program out. I am happy to be in the program I am now in, as set out on my blog for a full review, but GDI is good if you are into MLM.

To be honest, I rather earn very little with Amazon Affiliates and other free Affiliate programs which do not require me to purchase an on going subscription then risking my 10 dollars a month for earning potentially more or "NOTHING" with GDI, and using their sub-average hosting and domain service which is somewhat over prices compared to Host Gator and HawkHost.

I also read it is difficult to cancel your GDI account since you need to call their office by phone to cancel your web hosting and domain package.
