Anyone here do Taekwondo?

Nope I have not done Taekwondo before but I have watched it. It looks cool. I should try it sometime.

I've always been super curious about any kind of martial arts and have always wanted to try it. Just never had the chance I guess.

You should definitely try it sometime. I recently started doing martial arts and it is really good.

I need something that is relaxing. I was thinking of picking up meditation or yoga, but who knows.

Taekwondo is sometimes too violent. I had to leave to martial class after having gotten a pain on my arm.

I was in a Taekwondo class at one time, but since we had moved out of that area, I haven't been keeping up with it.

Qigong is quite good if you want something relaxing. Might be a bit boring though.

What do you mean by violent? Normally, you would get some protection gear so it shouldn't be that bad. Also, there are class out there that are more controlled which is less risky in getting an injury.

I need to look into doing martial arts. I think everyone should learn how to defend themselves.

Sure did. Enjoyed the ability to potentially injure people during our practice rounds. 😀

Be easy, bro. I wanted to say that it's a powerful sport because it uses our legs as the weapons. When I joined Taekwondo class, I saw my master went to a hospital after a battle with another (it took him a month in the hospital). I'm not sure the word "violent" is right but Taekwondo is really too strong for normal people.

I loved it for the time that I was in it, I think I managed to get to a grey belt? Something like that. I did WTF I do believe.

I was in it several years and I had my 2nd degree black belt and was working towards my 3rd degree I believe. I loved the skills and character traits it taught such as respect, perseverance and etc. I think it gives people control, it's especially good for kids.

That's that Japanese style of fighting right? I my hubby does that one, if it's what I think it is.

Its a Korean martial art. The one you are thinking of might be Karate; that is the Japanese style martial art.
