Anyone try the new Internet Explorer 9 Beta yet?

It's because they want people to buy the newer stuff. XP is about 10 years old.

I hope once most IE users on XP update to Windows Vista or 7. They also update to Internet Explorer 9 since it might lead to less bounce rates for web 2.0 and more modern websites like Youtube, etc or fewer general forum complaints because of a website loading slowly which IE8 and previous versions of IE are famous for slowing down your PC and making websites feel slower compared to Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari.

Plus, older versions of IE are not always very web 2.0 standards friendly in my experience.
Firefox and many other browsers are already fairly compliant with the newest standards, plus Firefox (not sure about others) is updated frequently. It is also available on XP.

Really, to promote web 2.0 and changing web standards, people should just get off IE entirely.

I'll have a look but I doubt I'll use it. Form my experience, IE tends to look at Chrome and Firefox, take a load of ideas from old versions of those two and put them into a 'brand new' browser, working at half the rate that Chrome/Firefox did.

I tried it, It has a tab view like chrome, and it don't support moz border and css shadows like previous versions, overall i am disappointed with IE 9 beta.

Well it's in Beta so that might be fixed. If you give them suggestions 😉.

I have it and believe it or not but IE 9 is faster than either the current firefox or the latest beta of firefox. It does support more CSS such as moz rounded corners..etc

There is no way it is faster than the latest version of FireFox. FireFox 4 beta though, definitely possible. But it's a beta so I wouldn't expect it to run super fast.

IE9 looks pretty good. 🙂 It just seems slower for some reason. 🙁

I've ran it through a series of test and it does run faster by a few seconds than the latest version of firefox. As a matter of fact other websites have reported the same thing. It may depend on your computer and or internet connection to a degree as well.

I have a 15MBit connection.
