I just decided to give Brave a go, I'm currently using it to make this thread. I've been thinking about giving other browser a chance, and I've heard decent things about Brave. It is chromium though, so that comes with other issues but this site loads much faster on Brave than it does on Firefox. I also like that there's a built in VPN, and ad blocker too. (Don't worry I do whitelist some sites.) Plus you can earn Rewards which you can cash out for crypto which is pretty cool IMO. I might actually use Brave as my default browser now on desktop, I'll probably keep using Firefox on Android though. Does anyone else use Brave?

I’d never even heard of it until now? I’m assuming it’s relatively new on the scene?

In terms of functionality and interface which of the main browsers is it most like?

I use it in my recording studio on my iMac purely for privacy and security reasons. It has issues which are generally based around blocking desired functionality within sites and forums and it doesn't always play well with Xenforo but it's the best browser I've found for use where security is paramount.

I do, but not my primary browser. And what's with the earning rewards stuff? I have never come across it on brave browser before.

Security reasons.. can you list a few? I am curious because there's been concern over brave's security implementations for some time now.

It's primarily for the site blocking options, trackers and scripts etc. plus to a lesser degree it appears to do a reasonable job of flagging sites attempting to deliver malware although I wouldn't rely on it exclusively for that purpose.

As it's open source the code is available for scrutiny and I'm not aware of any major issues but I'm certainly open to hear otherwise. The biggest problem I've found is finding a balance between the amount of blocking per site vs the site actually being usable.

Since I use Chrome, I found that AdBlock Plus extension works nice for blocking ads and Malwarebytes extension is amazing at blocking trackers, malicious links/scripts, and acts as a secondary ad blocker. Maybe look into them

I use Firefox, uBlock Origin and Microsoft Defender on my PC which seems a good combination in that I've not had any issues for a couple of decades.

I only use Brave on my iMac although I am currently considering alternatives because it does have a habit of breaking site functionality.

Adblock Plus and Malwarebytes also have their extensions available for Firefox as well...I think brave too, don't quote me on that lol

I’ve never heard of Brave. I tend to use Opera and keep Chrome as a back up.

I have though it's not my main browser. It's faster so I can only use it when I ain't getting what I needed at the moment.

I use Brave sometimes, but it’s not my main browser. I mainly use Chrome.

I was using the brave brownser because of their reward program until it got removed front my region.

I have it installed, use it from time to time. After Firefox's data update, I should fully move over to it.

I don't make use of Brave browser but I heard it's very good. I'm using only Chrome.
