Hey guys,

As far as smart phones go, we all probably have 60 million apps downloaded on our phones. I can tell you that I personally have at least 100, which is really the only reason why I wanted to have a phone with a capacity of 128 GB.

Whether it's iOS or Android, what are some apps that you guys have on your phones that you would recommend for us to download?

Here are some of my must have apps for Android.

1. Calm (meditation and mindfulness app)
2. Parallel Space (use same app with multiple accounts, useful in case if you have multiple amazon kindle account for reading)
3. DU Video recorder (if you are into gaming and streaming)
4. WhatsApp (for keeping in touch with friends and family, you can go with telegram if you prefer anonymity)
5. Microsoft ToDo Tasks
6. Accuweather
7. GetPocket
8. Di.fm Radio (EDM Music stations, free with ads)
9. Mint (To keep track of finances, if you can get "You Need A Budget" App but it's premium)
10. VLC (for playing specific video and audio formats on android)

There are many other apps but I am cutting down a lot so these are essentials.

  1. MyKi - Password manager. This keeps your passwords locally on your phone and then you download the extensions for various browsers. When you need to use a password, you approve the request from your phone. No passwords are stored in the cloud.
  2. CamScanner - Mobile Scanner. I use this app on every business trip I take. Scan receipts or anything else and you can save PDFs or anything else that you scan.
  3. WiGLE WiFI - Wardriving and wifi analyzer. I am into infosec, so this is a really useful tool for me. Using WEP encryption? I can see that.
  4. IFTTT - Helps me automate my entire digital life and it's amazing.
  5. GlassWire - Network usage and connection tracking. I use this on my phone to keep a track on not only data usage but also ingress and egress connections my phone is making.
  6. All of Microsoft's productivity apps - I use them ALL for work.
  7. Hue - Smart lighting - My house is full of Philips Hue products so this is a must have
  8. Hiya - Call screening - I hate getting spam/scam calls so I just block them

I was just going to suggest Calm. One of the best meditation apps!

Well, here are some I use the most:

- Calm
-Fitbit
-Twitter
-Discord
-Gmail
- Float
- Bullet Journal

I'm on iOS, but those are good suggestions. I've seen plenty of advertisements about Mint on Snapchat.

Those are some interesting apps that I definitely need to check out. Personally, I use Genius Scan for scanning my receipts for my expense reports.

Other than Bing, I'd say just about all of us have those apps on our phone.

I've messed with Calm before. I've never heard of Float or Bullet Journal. Definitely need to download those apps and play with them.

Yeah! I keep it basic on my phone even that I have 12gb storage

I don't have many apps but I do have a few that others have listed. I also have Parking Panda that helps for paying at parking garages in big cities in the US. I live in the country and the app that the local small downtown uses for their parking (not Parking Panda) has a lot of low ratings so I refuse to download it since the complaints were that they got parking tickets even when using it.

Anyone having a hard time with robocalls?
I have been tirelessly looking for a service or something to stop these calls! I have tried and paid for premium NomoRobo, but I still get 15-20 calls a day. I have signed up for RoboKiller ($3.99/month), and it has stopped all calls. (So far..)

Float is actually just a cute little game. Its also somewhat calming. Your a flower that your floating through water. It can be hard, but its pretty fun.

The Bullet Journal one is mostly a companion if you keep a bullet journal.

I mostly have games on my device. I do have a couple of saving apps etc. I do use my phone for work purposes but its just calling/texting and then the generic email app. I do most of my work on my laptop.

I really don't think that installing unfamiliar apps is a good idea for your phone. Especially if you do financial transactions through it. I like to keep it as simple as possible

Google Fit
VLC
MX Player etc

I have a 64GB Google Pixel 3a and I barely have any Apps on it.

But if you're into Free and Open-Source Software(FOSS) then download F-Droid. It's an Android App Store that has only, FOSS Software. You won't get as many great Apps unlike Google Play but if you love FOSS then you might want to give F-Droid a shot.

I agree F SHOT marketplace is good, free apps and free from ads.
*F-Droid(Yes, I'm one of those people).

But yeah, F-Droid is pretty decent for Apps. But again, there aren't as many on Google Play but the quality is somewhere in the middle.
