I find fault in that report. I'd say 99.9%of that goes to Android. I'd like to say ios has no viruses or malware, which is true, people would argue.

Most android phones come with a customized version of android from retailers, so for example, I have to wait until virgin mobile decides to release an update for me get the latest version. 4% of Android users have the latest version, because the company they go with are still updating the phone (or it was bought from Google).
Android is super fragmented, and probably always will be. Still, I've rooted my phone and keep my custom rom updated to try and avoid this.

As an iOS fan myself, I can see why you'd think that but in truth, of course there is exploits floating around. Hell, you can inject malware onto an iPhone via a modded charger. Of course, that's a bit more far out there than most conventional methods but I still wouldn't say that 99.9% of malware attacks can be attributed to Android.
Can jailbreak methods be counted as exploits? Because maybe those exploits could be used as malware points as well. From what I've seen, one of the lead jail breakers may have even stumbled across a bootrom exploit.
Either way, whilst iOS may be a 'closed' system, even I don't think it is perfectly safe, no system is. iOS has a much better update system than Android I believe which is what keeps iOS that much safer than Android but there are pros and cons to each one.
This isn't meant to be seen as a dig at you by the way, merely an opinion. 😛

You can download anything on the App Store and it is safe.

Jailbreaking isn't counted in this. Your device becomes more vunerable though. The modded charger is a long shot, and unless you know a a guy that has one, and you use it you aren't gonna get infected. The update system, and the fact the OS is fairly secure, and all apps are approved.

And in regard to Haze's comment, researchers can inject arbitrary software onto any Apple device running the latest version of iOS. In-fact it only takes under a minute for it to happen.
Anyway, looks as though people aren't liking Apple's latest iPhone 5 which is basically the iPhone 1, iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s anyways. 😛

1) True, that has been found, but Apple quickly removed it, so end of story. I doubt there is any on there right now. Google's store is full of crap.
2)And how likely is this? There is only a few of these probably in the world, and in the event you use one, I would have a higher chance of being struck by lightning.
3) Now you really hit my nerve, even after calling my iPhonesheep.
I guess people really hate every other device then, huh? Apple sold 5M iPhone 5's on the first weekend, and it took Samsung a whole month to sell 10M. I highly do not think the 5 is like all of the others, do you? Your the tech blogger, so you should know that it is not.
Blodget writes that “excitement should begin to build about the iPhone 5S, the new iPad Mini.” He admits that these products are nothing new. Moreover, based on the bored reaction from my students last fall to the iPhone 5′s announcement, many may shrug should Apple release these “new” versions of old products.
Many will conclude that there is no compelling reason to replace their current iPhones. Or, perhaps they will buy the latest offerings from Samsung and other Android makers.
Analysts called 6 million units for the iPhone 5 the "worst case scenario" for Apple's opening weekend
Fast forward to today and as the great Yogi Berra once said, “It’s like deja vu all over again.” The iPhone 5 has been launched and it looks an awful lot like the iPhone 4s. Yes, the glass has been removed from the back (one fewer thing to break). Yes, it has 4G LTE. Yes, it’s a tiny bit larger. Yes, it’s 18% thinner. And, yes, finally (and Apple fans know how loaded that word is), the screen is larger, at 4 inches diagonally.
Those open mouths are not agape with awe; they are the collective yawns of the Android community and, dare we say it, the small band of Windows Phone users. The truth is, not one of these features is revolutionary and they’ve all been available since 2011 on phones from some combination of Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, and HTC. In fact, one can take it a step further: Apple’s specs are actually unimpressive compared to many of those phones. I don’t mean specs like megahertz or number of processor cores. Consumers don’t care about those things and the new iPhone does have an improved custom processor. It should keep pace with — or exceed — the best phones on the market.

Actually, Samsung sold 10M S4's in the first month. So yes it is a valid comparison. Even if it was Samsungs whole fleet, it would still be valid and it would mean an even bigger score for Apple.xpl0iter said:iPhonefreak said:Apple sold 5M iPhone 5's on the first weekend, and it took Samsung a whole month to sell 10M.
In my opinion that comparison doesn't stand. Android runs a lot of devices, thousands of them. But iOS is running on basically a few devices, iPhone 3gs(I really don't know if people still use prior versions), iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. So if anyone like IOS, that person has only got a single choice to make when a new version of the device comes on market. So its no wonder that it sold 5 million devices with in the first few days. Now when it comes to android, a lot of people don't like Samsung, I know I don't because of its cheap plastic body. And they do have a lot of other choices, they can buy HTC/Motorola/Asus/LG/etc etc.
So if you have to compare compare I think it should be between, the number of iOS devices and the number of Android devices sold.
Now talking about Malwares, Yes android has a lot more malwares when compared with iOS. And yes Google should really have a screening process for apps. But you're forgetting one thing, Google is not selling Android, android is a free OS. This is the reason why you have a lot of low cost smartphones with android running on it. Most of these phones are pretty good when the features and specs are taken into account. This way people who cannot spend a thousand dollars on a smart phone can also have decent smart phone experience.
If you really care about the malware apps on play store, you can actually install antivirus apps like kaspersky, avast etc.

The iPhone 5 went on to sell 33 million units in 2012 which was roughly the same number that Samsung sold of the S3 in the same period.

You're such a fan boy. But now that you said that, I would like to point this out, those are gimmicky phones with all the features you need with a lesser price tag. And also I would call increasing the screen size only lengthwise a failed gimmick to match up with the large screen trend.iPhonefreak said:Other companies are releasing stuff that is called gimmicky
Seriously? Check this BenchmarksiPhonefreak said:And the specs, the reason why Apple's specs are unimpressive is because iOS runs so efficiently it takes Android devices 2x or 3x the power to match the performance of Appe's iPhone.
Yeah there is nothing easier than copying some video files from a friend's laptop in iPhone. And yeah sending a few photos via bluetooth is also very easy. I can go on and on saying stuffs like this. And you will come up the negatives of android too. But whats the point? Like someone in this topic said, both OS have their own advantages and disadvantages. But saying 99% of the malwares are because of android and Apple Store is 100% safe was stupid.I test ran the S4 in Best buy (after feuding with the SCAMSUNG guy) and I found it no faster then the iPhone. I found it rather hard to operate.

Those are basically things which other companies have already done. LTE has been on phones since 2010-11 (from what I remember, could be wrong), the lightning connector - well that wasn't really revolutionary because companies have been using TINY charging cables for years and years, iOS 6 was basically iOS 5 and the camera.... well other companies actually have a lot better cameras. I put the S4 and the iPhone 5 head to head in with the camera and the S4 smashed the iPhone with correct colouring, better quality and also better HD recording.
Those things might be revolutionary for you, an absolute Apple fan, but for us who actually bother to try new things and don't face the fact that there's a lot of better phones out there, these aren't, most of the features where Apple's attempt at trying to catch up to the competition. I'm sorry iPhonesheep, but us who actually try different things have had most of the iPhone's features for years.
iPhonefreak said:And why install anti viruses when if you buy an iPhone, you do not need one? And because you said of the free OS, that brings up the fragmentation issue and an open software, so it is not s good.
Actually it is good. It's why Android is most popular mobile operating system. Companies can style the operating system, to make it their own. Look at the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 and it's a complete different experience, even though it's running the same software. Companies and even users can make Android look like an operating system they want, they could even make it look like iOS if someone was crazy enough to want Android to look like iOS.
iPhonefreak said:Actually, Samsung sold 10M S4's in the first month. So yes it is a valid comparison. Even if it was Samsungs whole fleet, it would still be valid and it would mean an even bigger score for Apple.

An opening weekend isn't a good comparison, because most people don't actually buy new phones on the first weekend they come out. Many people will wait, read the reviews of the phone which come out over the first weekend and then might go and get it the next week after reading reviews and hearing about the product. So you're fight is invalid, because Samsung and Apple managed to sell the same amount of phones during 2012.
Ohh and on the performance thing, you realise that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has 2.16 times better performance than the iPhone 5 right? The iPhone 5 is as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S III..... Ooops, looks like we have a fault in your argument.
The features in iOS are limited and really lacks innovation. iOS is great for children and those who aren't able/familiar with more powerful technology. Apple wants you to have a bulletproof experience with iOS, but sometimes that isn't what consumers want. We want to be able to change things in our phones and not feel locked down, which is something you don't feel when using Android. iOS used to be better than Android, but in the last few years, iOS hasn't changed massively and Android has continued to get stronger and stronger and much better. iOS is stale and Android is innovating with every release.
Back in 2007 when Apple released the first iPhone, they were great. They were market leaders and innovating like there's no tomorrow. In the past few years they've just completely stopped. Nothing used to match the iPhone back in 07, but now there's a large handful of devices which are more powerful, more capable and just all around better devices than the iPhone 5.
I used to be an Apple fan, then I got bored that I could hardly do anything with my iPad, so I moved to a Surface and I will never go back to an iPad. The amount of things I can do on my Surface compared to an iPad is a massive list and allows me to do school work, use a USB stick and be more productive. Then Samsung sent me the S4 to review, and the amount of innovation in that one phone was more than Apple has done with their last 3-4 phones.

We were talking about the OS, so its not a valid comparison, period.
Now why to install them? Because you pay less money, a lot lesser for android smart phones. Also some people like android phones, so they prefer that.

I think I have a guess about your next argument. Real world usage performance is different from benchmarking performance? If that is your argument, I have only one thing to say check the difference score between the first one and iPhone 5.

Thank you for proving to everyone here how much of an idiot you are. Android was made first, Android began to get made years before iOS was. So if iOS wasn't around we would have Android and it wouldn't have a younger brother trying to copy it. 😉
iPhonefreak said:I would urge you to check the performance of the Samsung smartphone out at the same time Apple released the iPhone. That is right, they did not have a smartphone out!
Let's take a look at a few things. You seem to be saying that because they launched the first smartphone, they rule. Let's look at all the most successful companies. Facebook: Didn't release the first social network. Google: Wasn't the first search engine. You'll notice with most of the top companies around the world, that they weren't the first to make it. Being the first to make something mostly means you're probably going to fail at it. Other companies can take your idea, and make it better. Then another company comes and takes that companies idea and makes it even better. I think that's what we're starting to see with Apple, they're falling down the line.
iPhonefreak said:Oh, and lets look like idiots and bump out pieces of plastic together.
You're going to put a cheap old plastic case on your premium iPhone, so who cares if the S4 is made out of plastic. Means you don't need a chunky case around it. And I love how the iPhone 5's were delivered to customers with skuff marks and dent marks in them due to them being made out of metal.
iPhonefreak said:And if you argue with me you have no business writng any article about any product!
So you're saying because I am open minded and don't just side with one company that I shouldn't have my technology blog open? I get 300,000 pageviews per month and that's climbing. Seems as though people like my open thoughts about things iPhonesheep, otherwise I wouldn't have any pageviews at all. Apple is a great company, but others have overtaken them due to the way Apple releases products and what their actual products are. So get off your high-horse.

Actually the S4 camera does smash it to pieces. The camera on an S4 is comparable to an actual camera, unlike the iPhone 5 which in camera test just lacks proper colouring.
It seems as though you're not even going to bother listening to our guys side of the stories. We're all open to Apple and don't pass something off because it wasn't made by Apple. Apple is good, Google, Samsung and Android as a whole is good, and those are taking over Apple.
Did you make sure to do this when you woke up this morning?:

iPhonefreak said:Did you not see where the iPhone 5 was more durable then the S4? Probably didn't.
xpl0iter said:Wait, I am going to write something,
- Most of the countries launched LTE in 2012, more than 50% of the countries that currently has LTE networks. So apple was actually quite a bit late to the scene.
- Cameras are not all about Megapixels, say that to Nokia Lumia 925. And if you get time, please do check the camera quality of iPhone 5 and HTC One, SGS4 and Nokia Lumia 925
- Before iPhone there was Nokia with Symbian, then Symbian started loosing its grip because it didn't bring anymore innovations.
- Android is slightly the most used operating system - This argument is plain stupid. Its not slightly, its by far one of the most used mobile operating system.
Its 17.3% to android's 75.0%: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... ng_systems
- SGS4 and HTC One do run much faster than iPhone 5. Its not just benchmarks.
- Opening week sales don't tell the demand. It shows how rich and careless people, the niche specific market contains. They don't care if the iPhone 5 has any problems. Like when iPhone 4s was launched, it was having terrible network reception, but no one cared about that.
But android market is not like that, people will wait until some reviews are actually out. They will wait to find out which phone will suite them better.
- Without iOS android will have 92.3% of smart phone market share.
- Siri is an awesome product. But again, it was not developed by Apple and before the acquisition of Siri by Apple, they actually had plans to develop the same engine for both android and blackberry. Apple basically stopped this from happening. So where is the innovation from Apple in here.
-Notice of how Apple released the iPhone and all of the phones changed? Samsung has to pay Apple over a billion dollars for patent infringement?I would say Samsung did the same thing which Apple did years back and is still doing.
Copying the desktop concept from Xerox, copying the notification bar from android, copying the Dock from CDE and arthur OS and a lot more stuffs which I don't want to write here!
