So guys, I'm officially wearing an Apple Watch. I didn't buy the one that was just released though (Series 4). I decided to go ahead and spend $200 on a refurbished Apple Watch. This is the 42 MM Series 3 with just GPS. I didn't really see a reason for me to have the GPS + Cellular.

How many individuals do we have in our community that wear an Apple Watch?

$200 is still an far amount to speed. Yet again new can go up like $600 or more. I find them very costly. Partly that you spend for the brands name and also Apple gear are always high

Yeah i have one. I never really got the point of getting the cellular model, as the watch requires an iPhone to be on you to be functional anyway. I have the Series 4 GPS one, but i had the Series 2 before this. They're pretty useful imo.

I had a Series 3 for a while and it was nice. Unfortunately I have a latex allergy and the Sports band would make me break out in a bad rash. I could have bought a new one for it, but I barely used the Watch and couldnt justify spending more money on it so I sold it(For almost full-price!)

I do miss it though. :c

I've been looking at them but can't justify spending that much for a watch when I have a perfectly good $20 watch that I received as a gift. 🙂

Check out the Milanese bands on Amazon! They cost like $5 and they're much better than the sports bands imo.

Yeah, Apple anything is stupid expensive. I talked myself into getting the watch because I felt like it's something that I would use.

I thought the whole point of the cellular model was so that you didn't have to have your phone with you to text/call on the watch?

That sucks. I don't believe I have a latex allergy, but I guess we'll see. 😛

Is it some type of smart watch?

Sounds like I also need to check that out! It would be nice to have a few different bands.

It's not. It's an Armitron from Walmart.

Yeah, i have a couple and like to swap them out every other week 😛

Bands are pretty cheap.

I am thinking about getting one in the future. But for now, I am sticking with my timex wristwatch.

I had an Apple Watch at one time. I think the one I had was the series 1 around a year after it came out. The watch was really fun and very convenient to wear. Saying it was convenient was because when works with your hands all day with equipment you can’t just pull out your phone and see the notification. So having an Apple Watch helped out and was very handy as well.

It's great for texting while you're working. 😛

I bought my dad's old original "Series 0" Apple Watch last year for $100. It still works great, and it encourages me to get my exercise in every day, and it's nice to get notifications on my wrist when I'm out and about or doing things where my phone isn't easy to get to right then.

Still think they're a great value. Refurbs can be be found as low as $239 right now for a Series 3. That's quite a good value for the price, I'd say. I do wish mine was water-proof, but someday I'll get a newer one. 😛

My refurbished Series 3 42mm was like $205 and some change. I definitely love it when I’m working or traveling.

The Apple Store is having some deals ongoing for Black Friday on new and refurbished items, so if you guys are interested, check it out!

I know some folk have one, but to me I think they're more popular with joggers 😛 For myself though, I prefer the traditional watch, that shows only the time 🙂

And do you think an Apple watch is worth it?

You can buy cheap knockoff smart watches all over the internet for as low as like $5, so I can definitely see why people would question why anyone would think it's worth it to spend a few hundred dollars on an Apple Watch. I'd say it just depends on how much you use it. Personally, I wear my everyday I work, but it usually stays on my charger on my days off. So, I'm wearing it like 5-6 days each week. If you don't see yourself waking up in the morning and putting it on before work/school/etc and then wearing it throughout your day, then it's probably not worth spending the money.
