So in a huge apple fan, over other company's I will choose apple products first. I mean I have an Iphone 6, IPad Air 1 and am considering getting a MacBook or mac.

I always have been an apple fan, I don't see them as manipulative, ok they are very closed door and very controlling but it pays off! On android devices you can get viruses, with IOS you cant.

So what are your thoughts on apple?

Apple is amazing. I have an ipad and it's very good but for phones, I go for android because they have better battery life and it's removable which is very useful. I know that on android it is vulnerable to viruses whereas this is not the case with Apple but if you be careful an android phone can be safe too. I generally like apple but android is a very good substitute.

I love Apple. I've had an iPhone for years, recently upgraded to a 5S and love it, there's really nothing I don't like about it. I used to not like Macs but after trying Windows 8, I was convinced to get a Macbook and I love it too. It's an amazing computer and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The only Apple product I own is an iPod and it works good. 😛

Their stuff is ridiculously over priced so I'd rather use Microsoft and android instead of breaking the bank.

I have tried Apple before and I find them overrated, I hated the iPhone and Macs aren't really for me because I see them as a device for the creative people.

I love apple, I started off with the iphone, and now have a mac, and I don't think Ill be going back to any other type of product.

Could you possibly elaborate? Thanks 😉

To all others, surprised at the amount of topics it's got in this short period of time.

I think the prices are too high, some other things are better than Apple. It has a low battery life compared to other android devices. They break easier than things like Samsung Items. At least companies like Samsung make washer machines. When Apple shipped iPods containing a worm last year, instead of issuing a humble mea culpa, Apple took a swipe at Microsoft, saying, "As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it." As you can imagine, that didn't fly with security experts. How about an apology to the folks who were unlucky enough to buy the infected iPods, period?Steve Jobs was the CEO of animated-movie studio Pixar; Apple is represented on the Blu-ray Disc Association board of directors. The Mac is supposed to be the computer of choice for video professionals.
So where is the option for a Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD player in the fancy new quad-core and eight-core Mac Pros? They're stuck with the same-old SuperDrive. Mac apologists will no doubt provide you with a complex explanation of why this makes perfect sense, but the fact is that next-generation optical drives are available and make sense for some folks, and Macs don't have them.

Most Apple stuff is over priced. The Apple sticker costs $150

I do agree the price is high, but for the highest quality products you cannot disagree they are worth it.

As with breaking easily, generally not having thick screens helps make the device lighter and a whole lot more portable to carry around with you. Yes it can be a delicate device but I haven't yet dropped either one of the two iPhones I've owned over the years.

I currently own:
 • an iMac 21.5-inch Late 2009
 • two iPods Touch 32GB
 • an iPad 4th generation 64GB
 • an iPhone 5S 32GB

Apple's products are very overpriced, especially in Greece because we do not have an Apple Retail Shop, but they are high quality products which can last for more than 4 years ( like my iPods and my iMac ). :great:

Moved to the appropriate forum.

The only reason why I haven't actually owned an Apple item, like their computers, is because of me finding it a little bit more difficult to find certain things while running their stuff. Once I get over that, I probably wouldn't mind buying like a laptop from the company, just to own one.

I like the Apple iPad, and iPhone series of devices which seem to run 3D games like Infinity Blade, and Asphalt 8 smoother than a lot of Android devices based on videos I watch on YouTube, and reviews I read.

Apple laptops also seem pretty durable since I read a lot of stories, and know some people who been using them for many years past their warranty which seem less common than generic Windows computer makers like Dell, and HP where there seem to be more people complaining that their laptop break down after or before the warranty period has expired.

I think their All-in-One desktops like the iMac also last pretty long since I see a lot of older iMacs in computer labs, and the library a lot. Plus, they also seem pretty well built compared to other All-In-One made by Dell, HP, etc which case and screen don't look as high quality as an iMac.

I think Apple's Desktops like the Mac Pro, and Mac Mini are over priced because you can build a faster desktop from parts which you bought on Newegg, Amazon, eBay, and TigerDirect, and install a free operating system like Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Lubuntu, and spend a lot less money on parts, and use a free operating system which can save over $100 if you include the sales tax on the OS when you buy it.

Oh yeah, I have an old iMac computer in a closet somewhere too.

I hope they've improved their OS since the one that currently resides on that dinosaur of a computer. 😛

I feel that some of this came from speculation, because I have not seen a few of these on a major tech blog. Specifically the worm you mentioned. The rest of this seems like a bunch of small things aimed to make an argument but fail to create one. I'd love to know what this next gen optical drive is, because last I checked the need for them is rapidly declining due to faster internet and everything becoming digital downloads.

-- December 30th, 2014, 11:28 pm --

You can still get viruses in apple products.
It's possible, but a lot harder compared to a Android device.

I love Apple... I use an IPhone, MacBook, etc. etc. but:
Don't think for a minute that anything is virus immune.

While it's unlikely - IOS and almost any other OS can get a virus.

I own an iPhone 5S (32 GB) and a Mac Book Pro. In the past, I've owned an iPad 4, but sold it after not using it much. Now that I'm flying, I wish I kept it because they're very useful in aviation.

I think Apple has its uses. I find the user interface very easy and simple to use. Rarely do I see an older user with a non-Apple smartphone because the UIs can become too complicated compared to Apple's. While they break the bank, they definitely have their perks.

I find Apple to be overpriced and nothing really spectacular. They have made some good things but so has Microsoft, Adobe, Intel, and a slew of other corporations in the technology business. As a computer I don't find Apples to be that different from PC's other than the price tag attatched to it. This is why I'll never own an Apple computer. I can't see the purpose of paying a thousand dollars when I can pay a few hundred for a PC with the same specs. Granted it had it's wow factor 10 years ago with the IPOD and the Iphone but technology is moving on and Apple hasn't brought anything original to the table since. I'm not impressed by their company really.

I've owned both Iphones and Android phones and nothing has surprised me more than how fragile the iphone was. I dropped a 3GS from a height of 3 feet carpeted floor when it fell out of my pocket once and it shattered the screen. I've dropped my Galaxy S3 every which way and even down the stairs and it has yet to even chip. They have the Galaxy S5 now...I'm still trucking with the S3. Works fine. It was good product and it's lifespan shows that.
