I'm having a hard time recalling but I think I may have found FP & FA through Free Forums way back in the day :hilarious:
 
I use it from time to time to reminisce about the 70000 Proboards forums i created back in the day.
 
Good place if you want to see sites of how they looked from yesteryear, even of your old forums. Unfortunately though, my ISP had blocked it :arghh:

Google was a bit darker back then and very 1.0. lol Probably why I was a Yahoo kind of girl back then.
 
Oof. At first it was big then it just toppled over. I hope that never happens to my forum. 😵

I use it all the time to go back & look at old sites I used to be a part of... I'm going to share them here. These are the sites I remember visiting a lot in elementary/middle school when I was taken in by a bunch of hackers & taught a lot of things I know now. I never really went too deep into hacking, but learned a lot of the skills I use today at work & in my projects 🙂

The first forum I joined when I was in elementary/middle school. It was a hub for the most famous AOL/AIM hackers back in the day and where I "grew up on the internet" learning about hacking, web design, and more. Great memories, but RIP Cerjam!

Of course I cannot forget about ssope, a misunderstood computer hacker aiming to bring a variety of software to the internet for free. Long-hated for his ego & always getting in trouble, ssope frequently went off to rehab and/or jail between releases of his software.

Ah, can't forget about Bizkitz! He was a very nice lad, creating hacking software, graphics on Cerjam & tons of advice. Overall he was a great guy, but outgrew the forums & disappeared only to show up every now and then to say hello. I remember using this AIM lag methods to disconnect my friends when they annoyed me! haha... so immature, but good fun

Obviously it changed over time. I do regret letting it go. It was doing quite well as a general forum ;(
 
It makes you realise that we actually used to optimise our sites back in the day for slow connections and metered plans, now most people just assume they've got the best of the best!
 
Loved the community on free forums. Till it went down hill! Ghost I loved that theme to that @Murder he Wrote created! Looking at that picture I don't even remember being on the CT team. Haha.
 
I often visit the place and make sure that some of my old sites are still indexed. I have given up on many of them. So if I remember their URL, I tend to go check on them. Its one good time capsule kind of thingy.
 
I'm surprised to see so many people use the wayback machine. I have never been into it like that. I don't see the appeal.
 
It's useful for keeping track on website changes. Lot of times political views can be captured too. Its very handy tool.
 
I decided to spend some time checking out my old sites. I found old blog posts from a personal blog I had. I'm definitely going to be using those for my new blog. 😀
 
Just been using it for looking at the site of LCPDFR that's been going on since 2009 and you can go back many times and see how it was from then to now.
