Are all free forum hosts bad at security?

I just need to ask all these questions, so that if I have a problem, I can rely on some of your advice. But are they really that bad?

From experience, I would say yes. There are so many ways that the forums can be hacked into and destroyed.

Some do have better security then others but most suck with security.

Not all free forum hosts are bad at security, that's a stereotype. I can assure you that most free forum hosts I have tried out have decent security, it usually depends on the administrator really, if the administrator is careless with his or her password, clicks dangerous links, etc, that administrator is bound for security troubles. I know some administrators on free forum hosts who have had their forum cracked like to blame the free forum host they're on instead of admitting their mistakes.

No some are pretty secure but there is always that 1st time for everything. If you cannot able to make regular backups of your database, you are taking a risk of losing it all whenever that 1st time happens.

I don't think ProphpBB is bad at security. They host phpBB3 forums.
But they do backup the forums they host.

Are you kidding me???!!!!!!!! A friend of mine once showed me how you can log into someone else's account just as if it were your own account. Now is THAT good security? I don't think so! More forums seem to get hacked on Forumotion more than just about any other host, and the reason behind that is they lack some serious security features.

The link you provided is actually an excellent host. They always keep things up to date, and they always install new releases of phpBB as they become available. Probably one of my favorite free hosts of all time.

I'm on some of the biggest hacking sites world wide. THEY are having difficulties hacking them. The only thing you can really do is DDOS it

Well, this was an incident I heard about sometime last year or the year before. They don't have good security at all. Seems like every year I hear of more sites getting hacked on Forumotion than just about any other free host out there. If the developers spent more time updating security standards, rather than screwing around with updates that can actually wait, then we wouldn't be having this problem with sites hosted on them being hacked. Do they seem to care?? Huh, you wouldn't prove that one by me. I've heard loads of crappy stories about these guys over the years, and not one of them surprises me at all.
