I think blogs are still quite popular! Depending on the subject of your blog, you may get quite a bit of readers and views on your articles.

I feel like I don't really hear about blogs in the traditional sense anymore. When I normally think of blogs, I think of websites with traditional posts about whatever topic the person has decided to write about. I feel like now, I see a lot more vlogs than blogs. Of course, you can have both, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I feel it's easier for just about anyone to create a video about whatever topic and post it to their social media that to write an entire post and share it on WordPress/whatever they're using for the blog.
I've tried to run blogs of my own in the past, but I quickly realize they are both too much work for me to want to continue with and that I cannot maintain a steady stream of topics to bring it to life and maintain a steady stream of new posts. Among other reasons, of course, but those are the big ones.
