Are certain SEO metrics overrated?

I think DA (domain authority) and PA (page authority) from Moz.com are. In fact, while I do like them, I'd want to be sure other metrics were high - like Ahrefs (DR) (needs a paid subscription to see) or Majestic's TF (trust flow) and CF (citation flow).

Anyway, the reason I'm cynical about MOZ is cause trash links can, but not always, inflate the scores. In other words, a bunch of spammers can come in somehow link your site rudely (not in the correct manner) to a bunch of sites, and bam, your site has a high DA and PA! 🙂

Anyway, the term trash link does not mean the sites linked to are trash - only that in your particular situation, those links are not truly helpful. OK, what use is a spammy link on a good gaming forum for a webmaster site?

I also think DA is over rated. As sometimes, spammy links increases DA of a website. According to me, a healthy mix of DA and other metrics will be useful in this regard.

DA and Alexa are too overrated. Google doesn't care for them at all. But those fake metrics are being valued a lot in community.
