Are forums dead?

they don't thrive like social networks but they're far from dead, I still love forums and hoping I find people that like the same thing, I never give up on them.
it's just many people tell me that my website poxy so it leaves me wondering sometimes.
Can vouch that, Should never of asked, they just take longer to build.
