Do you think people are getting meaner? Have you noticed more people online being rude? If you cross paths or bump in to someone do you or the other person say excuse me or sorry?

This. Also, if people are only being nice because their god wants them to, that's fake. People should be kind because their hearts don't allow them to be any other way. Honestly, I'd rather have people be mean than pretend to be nice. When you anger those people who have "fake" kindness, you discover how they really are. If you thought that those people were nice, then it can be disturbing.orc_dragoon said:Not really true. Im an atheist and I give people respect even if I dont know them that well.

I wouldn't say thats true. I mean I live in a small town and there isn't anything like that. Of course the location is that towns don't really stop and others begin, everything is overlapping so thats probably why. You have to cross a few towns to get from one end to the other.CollectorsAlliance said:A lot of times though larger city people's rudeness is replaced by smaller city people's nosiness.
Some people would also say that small town folk don't like outsiders. Or maybe I just watch way too many movies. Hard to tell. I live in Kansas City which is somewhat big in size, but I could easily drive to a one horse town.
Thats why I like the chans. For all the things people blame on them, really the things you say affect if you're a "noob", not something stupid like a post count or join date.CollectorsAlliance said:I'll tell you one thing. It is annoying to join a new place and be considered a "newbie, newb, noob, or n00b."
This sounds like it is coming from somewhere?CollectorsAlliance said:Do you think people are getting meaner? Have you noticed more people online being rude? If you cross paths or bump in to someone do you or the other person say excuse me or sorry?

No, people just don't have any courtesy. I don't think they are meaner.
Thats pretty rude. Whenever I have been on public transportation, people ALWAYS give up their seat for someone like that.Traygon said:I don't think people are meaner, everyone is becoming more selfish I believe. Take going on the London Central Line for example, everyone barges in to get that train, however, no one cares if a pregnant woman, elder or someone who is less able to stand is on board. Will they give up a seat or give them more room? No.
On the mainline trains I always give up a priority seat for an elder boarding trains. Do bankers or young receptionists (or whatever 19 year old girls do in London) ever give up a seat? Never seen it. I don't know if people just don't care or they just live in a world of their own, I think society is loosing meaning when you witness some of this stuff.theezy said:Thats pretty rude.
