Are SEO plugins woth it?

I'd like to know, are SEO plugins worth installing on your site/blog/forum? If yes, why and if no, why not?

Yes, they are useful, if you want to add meta description automatically then there are many plugins which would help a lot.

Same way, if you want to replace 404 error pages, you can easily forward to relevant page or home page with the help of a plugin.

Depends on the plugin. I mean, vB SEO was pretty useful back when vBulletin 3 was the best software around. And I like the WordPress SEO plugins that exist.

Some others? Maybe not so much.

I've been using vBSEO for many years and have noticed massive improvements when using it. The only thing which concerns me at the moment with vBSEO is that it doesn't seem to be being developed and the owners / support staff are non existent.
