Are tablets still useful? Phones can do almost anything these days, so what would you need a tablet for?

I personally don’t feel the need for a table, however it’s very helpful for my grandparents whose eyesight isn’t the best and the struggle with dexterity on the smaller screens so the tablet for them is a lifesaver.

They're useful for the need of a larger screen as what @Grogu said, and are also more built for watching videos, playing games, reading long articles/eBooks endlessly and browsing the web with (yet you can use your phone for that, but some sites are heavy on resources and not all of them can take to it well). Also, you can use a stylus for it to enhance usability and productivity if needed and can multitask with different apps on it too.

So to say that you can do "everything" on your phone is clearly a misconception.

I like tablets for their portability and ease of being able to do tasks. Sure, I could browse forums and make posts, play games, look at social media, and loads of other stuff on my phone, but some of those things would be a little bit more tedious on my phone compared to my tablet. Some things are just a lot easier to do on a tablet compared to a phone, and if I had the choice between the two for certain tasks (like making posts on forums), I would choose a tablet easily. Not that I can't do it on my phone, but I'd do it much faster with a tablet that has a keyboard attached to it with far less mistakes than I would on my phone, where I'd only have the touch screen keyboard that I don't type quite as fast with and make far more mistakes on. It's also easier to share information with someone else since the tablet has a much bigger screen, so you don't have two (or more) people trying to look at a tiny phone screen (comparatively speaking).

Yeah, I have two that I use 😉 I use one of the tablet next to my main screen to view my chat while I stream using the twitch app on it 😉 with a tablet stand, the other tablet I use in bed to watch films or use it as charts

I don't own a TV but I do have an iPad which I guess is a kind of substitute. It suites me because it's portable and somewhat more flexible... or is it? I actually have no idea what you can and can't do on a modern TV!

I never owned a tablet before. I think they're too clumsy to work on. If I wanted to post something on forums, I'll do it on the phone which lays better in my hand, or wait until I'm on my laptop when it's a bigger kind of post.

I think tablets could be good for emulating older games. Also if you get a tablet that can run the latest version of Android or iOS, you can play Pokemon Go on a bigger screen!

I have one, however, I only use it to store my e-books on. Anytime I travel, I'll take my tablet since it's easier to take with me when I travel and doesn't take up much room in my carry on.

If you're doing any kind of web development, a tablet comes in handy when doing QA testing. It's always a good idea to test on different devices as not everyone uses the same device. As far as main usage goes, I guess that depends on the user.

I have an iPad with cellular service. I use it on the go, at home, and for work. It’s really helpful when using a computer is more of a hassle. I think they each have their uses though. I’ll use the sleeker tablet whenever possible.

I use my iPad as a portable TV. Mainly I take it to the gym and put it on the machine while I am working out. Sometimes I have it in the bathroom and watch something while I am doing my hygiene stuff (brushing teeth, shaving, etc). At my old place I had would have it in the kitchen while cooking but now I can see the living room TV from the kitchen where I am now.

This is going to sound crazy, but I have never EVER used or played with a tablet.

When I want a bigger screen, but don't want to sit in front of a PC, I use my tablet.

Despite the same tools of a Linux or Windows O.S. (usually, a tablet runs Android), it's the right compromise to engage in paid online tasks while travelling: not heavy like a notebook and a bigger screen compared to a smartphone. Also considering you can add a keyboard and a mouse to a tablet.

I personally like them. I use them to watch videos/Netflix while I'm doing other things or to play some games. For me, It's frustrating to watch movies with a little scream and I can't take the TV to watch or the laptop so the able is perfect for this situation.

Plus use it for Twitch chat
