Are topsites useful?

I have used them in the past. They don't provide much traffic, but if you are a brand new site, I would use them. Any traffic is better than no traffic.

Topsites won't bring traffic to you, you will bring traffic to them.

Every user visiting topsite will either be owner of a site listed there, or came there to vote a site of their liking. You won't attract much people there.

Instead you will place their image in your Forum, and will also ask your members to vote for you. So, technically, you bring more traffic to them, than they bring to you.

Topsites use to be big,but in todays world they are useless.

It is basically the same with directories. Big in the 90's died in the 00's,

Through the different stages of web development there have been different ways to attract people to your site. I am sure you all remember when Webrings did a lot of good traffic.

Anything that will bring you traffic and links back to you is useful, but I wouldn't put any topsite button on any of my sites.

Like some of the people said already, any traffic is useful, but I wouldn't use them.
