What I mean with health buff is someone who is too concerned with his lifestyle – eating healthy food, choosy with physical activities, no vices, and taking supplements. I have noticed that most of the health buff I know have been depriving themselves of good food and nice activities. Worse, their lifestyle is not a guarantee of long life. My husband’s aunt whowe consider a health buff died recently at age 70 from breast cancer. While a great uncle who is now 104 years old and still independent in movement is still a heavy smoker. So where is the wisdom in being a health buff?

I don't know if I consider myself a 'health bluff' but I do love to work out! I have a pretty intense schedule. I work out 2 hours a day, 5 days a week (Mondays to Fridays) and I take weekends off to enjoy them with family and friends doing whatever we do.

I also make sure I eat healthy during the week so when the weekend comes I can enjoy the junk food and restaurant food.
Working out has so many positive benefits for us such as getting stronger, healthier, reduces stress, helps people sleep better at night.

I don't take supplements as many of them are filled with chemicals and is not healthy for us. I eat a lot of food instead.

It's all about averages. I mean, the cigar smoking George Burns lived to be 100.

I think I have posted in this site about a great uncle who is now 104 years old. He is still a heavy smoker although lately he couldn't finish a pack of cigarette in a day unlike last year when he could consume 2 packs daily. He has no maintenance medication, eats by himself, moves by himself as if he is only 80 years old. They say that maybe God has forgotten all about him.

A lot of health buffs are too obsessed with health and flaky. I mean, who would you rather be around? 🙄

I think it's overkill with a lot of them. For instance, a multivitamin should be enough, not many pills.

I am not a freaking health buff. I love eating and want to enjoy the different tastes all over.

I am now, I never used to be.

I was a freelancer back in the day, spent a lot of time sitting on my laptop doing work and I developed high blood pressure, and that was the wake-up call for me.

I started to work out at the gym, walking to places instead of driving and cutting out the convenience of a takeaway meal.

I couldn't feel better, it's also good for your mind as well as your body. I find I get less stressed these days, which is always a good thing and I can work better.

I like that stuff too, but some extremists are flaky.
