Are you afraid to ask for help?

Let's talk about something we all face from time to time: getting stuck on a problem. Whether it's a tricky piece of code, a challenging design issue, or a tough decision about your community. It happens to the best of us.

• When you're stuck with something, do you ask for help?
• Do you find it difficult or embarrassing to reach out for assistance?
• How has asking for help positively impacted your projects or community?
• Are there particular resources or communities you turn to when you need support?

Never be embarrassed to ask for help! A community is always ready for your problems, how embarrassing they may seem to you.

I'll see how far I can go on my own before I ask for help. I've gotten good at asking being an Admin more than any other role. The more I do it, the easier it is and I get to know which members are better at accomplishing things and which will slack off.

I'm terrible about asking for help. I like to figure things out on my own, but if I do struggle after a while I might reach out. It's rare though, I've always had this issue however. Even when I was in school I never liked asking the teacher for help. :S

It is a good mindset that you've got. Asking for help is never wrong as long as you have exhausted every possible to get the situation handled alone.

I am sceptical about how some people can behave when I see help from them. So, I work hard to ensure that I am always in a situation where I don't need anyone's help all the time.

I like challenges.

I work in investigations, so when doing that, you have to really think outside the box sometimes, especially if an incident is complex. I enjoy the challenge of it.

The same goes for my web stuff.

But at some point, you got to ask for help even if you want to feel like you're all knowing and the expert. Even the experts need help once in a while.

Not just afraid to ask people for help, it's waiting to have an answer from someone to say that they can help, I end up waiting for so long that I end up trying to do it myself anyway as there is no one willing to help

I am not afraid to ask for help but I am hesitant to ask for help. Generally speaking I do not have budget to pay and I do not like people to work for free for me

I can become stubborn when trying to figure something out before I finally ask for help. But I enjoy the process of learning along the way. There's definitely a lot I picked up on by just trying to get something to work.

I am getting slightly better at not wasting too much time on something before getting help.

Definitely! Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Sharing the struggle can lead to awesome solutions (and maybe a laugh or two).

I'm like @Katrina and I'll see how far I can go with it on my own and then I'll ask for help. There are times that I've accidentally learned things that way. In other times, it's nice to know there are people that I can go to to ask for help.

Not at all, I ask for help anytime I know I need it. I know I'm not perfect nor do I know everything about forums or how to run them so when I need help I definitely ask for feedback, suggestions etc.
