So. I know some people don't think before they speak and as sensitive as I am.

I have been offended by people in the past by their use of vocabulary and when they express their thoughts and opinions. It could be some people have over whelming personalities and can come off too strong and over bearing.

While others are just plain rude. I do get offended by customers at work when they are inconvenienced and take out their rude comments on me and everyone else. Sure, that's a good reason. Sometimes religious or political debate, based on what the debate is, I can get offended, But I'm good at keeping it to myself.

But am I...as a person, easily offended today? No. Not so much anymore. I try to keep an open mind. It's worked out for me so far.

I try to keep an open mind on most things, and it's worked out so far. I don't think most people know what they say is offensive so keeping an open mind saves you the trouble from worrying about it or getting distracted.

What I cannot stand is when people use the "n" word as it's a normal word that should belong in a sentence or when speaking to their friends. It's rather annoying, I would not say totally offensive however I am sure for some it is. 😛 Other than that I am pretty much open minded.

When it comes to political debates and religious topics, I think it's hard NOT to get offended however something that I always tell myself is it's just a debate and they believe in different values, that's all. They are still a person, or maybe my friend, and move on. It stinks but in the long run it can save you from a world of broken friendships. xD

I can't stand rude people or those that simply don't have common courtesy (e.g. walking slowly when they're crossing the street knowing you're there waiting for them to walk across, you holding the door open for them and not saying thank you (heck some even look at you like you're being weird) which is crazy to me, etc)

As far as customer service goes... I've learned that some people are just plain ugly when they feel like they don't have control or some people have this misconception that they HAVE to be ugly in order to have something done. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten away with things that employees shouldn't do simply because I talked to them like they were human beings. Example: I stood in line once at a store as the only representive was minding the Customer Service desk and he finished with the customer who was being ugly in front of me and I had insisted that they go ahead and pick up the call on hold that he had to put on hold because the customer in front of me was nasty to him until he got off the line. After he finished the call I relayed to him that I had worked in retail and totally understand his position. I told him why I was there and he answered with "I'm not supposed to price match something that isn't in stock with our local competitors but no one is going to check so I'm going to overlook it but please just know that for future reference." WIN! 😉

I think for the most part everyone just wants to be happy so when someone is being rude and ugly I just immediately feel sorry for them because they must not be leading a fulfilling life to be acting the way they are.

No, and I rather detest those who are. Double so for anyone who wants to try and shut down much of freedom of speech because they can't take disagreement.

I wouldn't say I'm easily offended unless someone is making fun of one of my family members or something.
