Would you consider any or all of the members of your forum to be your friends, such as you could actually talk to them not just on forum but off forum, maybe on Facebook or in real life?

Sort of. Although I don't so much have friends as comrades, I have no interest in emotions like that.

Sure, they're like my online family! *Group hug*

I would consider our active members friends. But for those who aren't active, I probably wouldn't because I likely don't know them as well. But once they become active and/or I get to know them through other means (like for some we're friends from other sites) then of course.

Though I have talked to a few members when we're gaming together on PSN. (I would talk to others, but they don't have a PS*.) So while we're not exactly right next to each other it's nearly the same thing and it'd be pretty much no difference me talking with them on PSN or me talking with them in the same physical location.

For users who have been on my board long enough to really get to know them well, definitely. Heck, myself and one other member got so close on my board that we actually began an online relationship and met up some time afterwards. 😀

Yeah, for those have done many great contributions, and had a great connection between each other.

I'm friends with some members in my community, and I also have them on Facebook. I also have some real life friends that visit my forum.

Ever since I knew online forums, I tend to have several people to whom I'm closest to. We talk a lot on the forum, often in other chat network too such as MSN, Skype, or IRC, even friends on Facebook or Twitter. I've met one of them in real life. I'm happy to have many friends because I feel that it is the actual purpose of online communities, to get to know more people around the world.

I find that the relationship between a staff member and a regular member helps to ease the tension of participating together in discussions. You're not going to be close to everyone posting on your forum, but at least there is that sense of comfort of posting together.

They are kinda like family really. 😛 I think I have made a few friendships out of online forums, my best friend actually was a forum member. 😀

I love making friends on forums. Especially the forums I frequent and the forums I own. It just makes everyone feel like a family.

Many many many of the members on my forum become or either are already close friends. I text many members/staff team members as well as having them on facebook. My forum members become part of my family <3

I'm close friends with a few, and the rest are just friends. I do talk to them off-forum, such as on Skype, and I would consider meeting them in person, if the opportunity ever arose. I think I'd have a great time with them! 😀

Yup.

In fact, some of the people in my community are friends I've known for near a decade. It is an awesome feeling.

I have not own one, but when I join many forums, I have not been friend with any owners. I can be friend with Moderators but Owner is not. I do not know why

Yes, I would. I have several people I talk to off the forum. I even have Skype dates with a few. Those few are also friends of mine on Facebook. Honestly, I've made quite a few long lasting friendships on forums.

Yep! 😀 I don't know anyone on FP or most other forums IRL, although I do consider a lot of people here my friends. 🙂

Yes, I have a lot of friends on my forum and I'm quite proud to say this.
