Are you good with people when it comes to working a job?
I know you have to be very social, charismatic, and persuasive if you ever plan on becoming a car salesman. I was never cut out for such a thing. I am so introverted that I am nervous and at a loss of words when it comes to working those kinds of jobs.
I used to be pretty socially anxious around my fellow employees and rarely talk to them, nowadays it seems the less I care about others' opinions the more I can work with my fellow employees at ease. The customers can be the annoying ones at times, particularly when they don't get their way.
I'm pretty great with people. It depends on the environment. I naturally blend depending on what the situation is. I have always been able to have different friend groups and kinda just blend in! I have social anxiety though, not actually diagnosed, but goodness I notice it a lot more now a days. I hate having to speak in meetings when I'm running the meetings. I enjoy talking in an open forum if I feel like I'll be listened to though. If I feel like it doesn't matter what I'm going to say - I just don't bother sometimes. I'll write down my idea and take it to someone later.
In real life, people find me approachable. But I really would prefer to not talk to them. It's not anxiety, it's just my preference. I don't like small talk even though I'm forced to do it at times. I'll smile and be friendly, and they'll end up telling me their life story.
When I worked, I was that sweet girl down the hall who would drop everything to help a guy out and did it with a smile. I was getting paid, so yeah, I dropped everything. My preference would have been to work at home away from people though 😀
I am an introvert & while I'm civil & polite online & off, I really do much better when I can write it than say it.
I'm a housewife now but when I did work, it was 2nd shift factory. It was nice only having to deal with your own co-workers. I couldn't be in the public service.
