Are you either optimistic or pessimistic?

I am a very pessimistic person. I don't believe in getting my hopes up or trying or applying for a job that I wouldn't get. If I know I will not succeed. Than I won't bother. Horrible I know.

I failed my optimism test in the link below. I'm 83% pessimistic. I guess that's how down to Earth I am.

Hope for the best, prepare the worst. Words to live by.

You do not see the future as holding positive opportunities with successful outcomes. This has a negative effect on your ability to cope with stressful situations and harms your motivation, persistance and performance. You view the world as a place of bad experiences and events, you are unlikely to invest trust or faith in the belief that things will turn out ok.

Oh my gosh I love this test. 😱 Found out a lot more about myself than I thought. 😛

I'd say I am optimistic, I am hopeful for the future, I believe everything happens for a reason so I think that's what really helps.

I definitely consider myself more optimistic than pessimistic. In reality it depends on the situation and what I know about the circumstance(s). I make serious effort into being optimistic though as I don't think it's helpful to be doubtful by default. However if given reason I know when to be reasonable.

I feel as though I can be pessimistic at times. Though, a lot of my family and friends tell me I am the opposite. With all the hardships that I've faced as a mother and a wife, you'd think I'd of fallen apart by now. :/

Im more optimistic than pessimistic, but there are times where I think I am quite pessimistic about things.
