When it comes to running a forum or a blog, one thing I always strive to ensure I have is quality content over the amount of content I have. Anyone can sit and write basic content in a bid to be able to fill their forum or blog up with content but if it's not high-quality content then it usually is not going to help you in the long run for getting your site out there and gaining traffic.

Most search engines including Google often look at the quality of content on a website over the amount of content on a site. As much as a lot of content does help, the quality of the content posted will help you even more.

Are you someone who likes to have quality content on your forum or do you just go for quantity and not worry about the quality?

Quality is better by all means. There's no way you can compare both of them. There's a time when quantity would be necessary but quality should come first.

I like to make quality posts. It annoys me when someone just makes one word posts to a topic or will just post numerous boring new articles that are obviously not going to stimulate a discussion.

I prefer quality because it makes the site more interesting and more people want to return to it. The spam type of counting posts and copy and paste posts aren't very satisfying.

I do not care about quantity, I need quality. My focus is on publishing quality so that can build organic traffic on my sites.

A post is a post to me. I wouldn't call members out for their quality unless it was a paid posting job or something.

Usually I have a mixed preference. Some stuff I would rather have quality for, but I wouldn't be hurt if someone could produce average quality with plenty of quantity behind it.

Quantity is very very important, however, posts and content are also needed to get things rolling even if there are not many members. If the site is big with active people then quantity is very important. Then again I post with bad grammar mistakes hahahaha

I'd say it's important to strike a good balance between the two. Initially you of course want a lot of content to encourage signups and give members a reason to signup, though as ample threads are made, you want to shift slightly to drawing users in with valuable conversations and knowledge. When running my forums in the past I was often keen for quantity on threads, and quality on replies to have 'proper' discussions going on.

I prefer quality over quantity. While quantity is necessary to draw traffic and probably get ads on your forum, quality would bring organic traffic through search engine results.

When a guest browses through your forum, he would only be wowed by the quality of the posts and not the quantity they be.

I'm the same way, if the person is being paid to post on my forum then I would expect better quality posts over people that are doing a post exchange.
