So is this laziness? But are there really pizza jobs available as promised and can everyone do them? So now some conservatives are now "bullying" (sorry to use cliche PC word) welfare takers as not willing to deliver pizza.

Nope, I mean they get low payday

I dunno what it's like in other countries, but here if you're on welfare and you can get a job as a pizza delivery person, you have to take it. Otherwise you'll still lose your welfare.

If the job doesn't pay enough to meet the living standard, you at least don't lose everything. Welfare will cover the gap between you pay and the standard.

Could also be - some - of them really aren't physically capable of doing that kind of job? I'm sure some of them abuse the system, I'm sure some of them are simply lazy. But that's not always the case, I suppose.

Would I deliver pizza as a job?
Are they providing the vehicle? Maybe.

Otherwise?
No.
The wear and tear on my own vehicle alone is enough to make me not want to. Truth is that parts for vehicles can be expensive and the more driving you do the quicker you have to replace things like brake pads/shoes/lines, oil/filter, tires, etc... Plus the greater chance for major breakdowns (ex- transmission).

Though admittedly even if the vehicle was being provided for me I might not want to. Delivery drivers are often attacked to take their deliveries. Even though the pizza may not be super expensive (maybe $20) the person attacking you for it may not know/care. (Especially in areas with a high drug user population...)

Though for others, delivering pizza may not be an option. I mean it usually requires a driver's license in many cases and not everyone has one. Especially in many major cities where alternative transport is prevalent. (Why even own a car when you can take one of several buses that runs every 10 minutes. Or the Subway. Or a tram. Or a taxi. Or uber/lyft. )
Delivery via bike, within a reasonable range, would be an option I guess... But it presents it's own challenges. Namely bike parking and a certain level of required fitness. Even for people who are in reasonable shape a high demand delivery route could still mean problems.

In the UK if on benifits and your told to go for a job as a pizza deliver you have
to apply for the job and if offered the job you have to take it or lose you benifits
Wages can be made up with benifits

So are these people shying away from pizza jobs wusses?? 😉

Sometimes people are lazy, BUT other times they have genuine reasons for not taking up delivery jobs. For instance, if someone has an attention disorder, they can't drive. If you're not able to keep focus where it should be, you should never be behind the wheel. Another scenerio might be an epilepsy sufferer. These are things that aren't immediately apparent from just talking to, or looking at someone.

In Ireland if offered such a job, and you have no good reason for not being able to do it, you have to take it. Same as UK really. However, there are still many assholes on the dole that shouldn't be on it. That gives a bad name to people who are just down on luck for a while or have a genuine disability.

I think there is more competition for these jobs than is thought. Anyway, I don't think people avoiding them are little girls or something. OK, myself, I did some "get paid and work the same day stuff". It was tough and I didn't mind doing it. But that stuff isn't available around much anymore.

But I cling to welfare, but sometimes my pride makes me feel ashamed. But I have been trying to do things online, but there simply isn't enough capital to make them move.
