From the darkest of times a myth was told about vicious creatures that lurked on the road. these creatures looked like humans, ordinary humans, but looks can be deceiving. For these creatures were not the humans you saw, but in fact different, very different. They could shift into another form, a form so feared, a creature no one wanted to be near. one second they looked like the human they were not, and in another they were wolves, trying not to get caught. In this myth the shifters were vicious and mean, craving the meat of humans. but this blood thirsty label put on them was false, they were no more evil than any human. Humans never gave them a chance and there was a bloody war to kill them off. the shifters had to retreat and hide there existance before all of them were slain. they were just shifters... Now its present times and shifters are still wandering about, forced to keep there abilities hidden from the humans who forgot or there existance. you see, shifters are immortal, but humans are not, so they easily made it seem like the shifter population had been destroyed, figuring it would be best. they are stuck pretending to be humans, unless they are alone, then they can let there inner animal free. North America has a particularly large amount of shifters in it. every major job has a few shifters in it. more and more of them are moving here to fit in. they must remember to hide there true self, they can not forget of what happened in the past, can not let humans figure out they are not just a scary story in a book.
