It seems like Australia, while a lot better off than the U.S., does share a problem with the U.S. in that there doesn't seem to be a strong left-leaning party. The Canadians have the NDP and the Bloc, and the European countries have their social democratic parties; it seems like Australia doesn't really have a truly left-leaning party that holds a lot of political power.

There are two major parties, Labor and Liberal. They are left and right leaning respectively. Liberals are in power at the moment.
There's also the Greens which are the third biggest party and they are more left than Labor. They have managed to get seats in both the lower and upper houses so they have some power as well.

R18+ has been added to the ratings. Some things are still getting refused classification - We Happy Few, for instance. I think it got reclassified as R18 shortly after, not sure the details around it. But yeah it's improved immensely but is still restrictive in some cases. It still feels like games are critiqued more harshly than movies.

Of course it has effective, we haven't had a single mass shooting since it came into affect over 20 years ago.

Donations already get reimbursed during tax time so I'm not against doing it regardless If I end up getting more out of the exchange then if course I'd be doing it all the time.
