Ask me anything (zappaDPJ)

I was starting to have some success as a musician which diminished somewhat when I got married. It took me many years to get that career back on track.

What do the letters "DPJ" in your username mean?

(sorry if this was asked before)
It goes back to the dawn of the Internet when my first ISP asked me for a username. At the time I was playing guitar in a Frank Zappa tribute band and wanted 'zappa' as a username but surprisingly that name was taken so I stuck my real world initials on the end. Thirty or more years later I'm still using it 🙂

If you had to wear a t-shirt with your most used phrase, what would your t-shirt read?

If you had to wear a t-shirt with your most used phrase, what would your t-shirt read?
It would read 'no, I don't know' which is my reply to a certain person that has picked up an annoying habit of saying 'you know' every other sentence.

If a police officer pulls you over for speeding and asks “do you know how fast you were going?”, is it better to respond with an honest answer saying how fast you were going or to just say you were unaware? (and why)

What is your favourite snack?
Sesame rice noodles with a hint of garlic.

I would know how fast I was going and I would be honest about it. I generally drive at a speed that I consider safe which more often than not is below the limit, especially in built up areas and particularly if there are children around.

On faster open roads I might break the speed limit if the road is clear but I'll admit it and pay the penalty if I'm caught. That's happened twice in over 40 years of driving.

Oh wow! Did I take a while to get to the bottom of it or was it a quick diagnosis?

I knew I had a problem from a very early age but it took a while to identify the cause which I did myself by cutting out various food groups, one at a time.

Years later the health service verified what I already knew via a test after I inadvertently ingested a product containing milk and went into anaphylaxis. I'm now somewhat mindful about what I eat!

Do you find the dairy alternatives taste pretty similar to the actual dairy products or are they miles apart?

To be honest I tend to avoid dairy alternatives because most of them are dreadful. I'll use oat milk in coffee sometimes but that's about it.
