I think that's the same as New Zealand passports nowadays. It used to be shorter.

As of February 2026, a new adult U.S. passport book costs $130 (plus a $35 acceptance fee for first-time applicants), while renewals are $130 without the fee. Adult passport cards are $30, and minor passports (under 16) are $100. Expedited service costs an additional $60.
New Adult Passport (Age 16 and older)
- Passport Book: $130 (application fee) + $35 (acceptance fee) = $165 total.
- Passport Card: $30 (application fee) + $35 (acceptance fee) = $65 total.
- Book & Card: $160 (application fee) + $35 (acceptance fee) = $195 total.
