Most of the stuff I've read haven been turned into movies. There haven't been a lot of tv shows based on the stuff I've read.

But to answer your question, some of the stuff has and some of it hasn't. It depends on which book we're talking about.
 
Harry Potter series: The movies have stayed pretty close to the books, in my opinion.

Chronicles of Narnia: The movies have stayed pretty close to the books, in my opinion.

Eragon: The movie was NOTHING like the book.

Twilight series: The movies have stayed pretty close to the books, in my opinion.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: There were some differences but it wasn't enough that I hated the movie.

So I assume you did not like the Eragon movie? xD
 
No. I enjoyed the book but there were very little similarities between the book and the movie. I understand that they can't take everything from the book and fit it into the movie because the movie would be 14 hours long and no one would want to sit through a movie that long. That's why it's called a movie adaptation. They are taking that book and turning it into a movie.

Which film adaptation has been the best, do you reckon?
 
The best....would have to be the Harry Potter series, in my opinion. Especially the earlier movies.

I do some, yes. As long as the niche` is one that I'm comfortable with.
