I'm having issues giving a member mod powers in just one forum.

here are the things I've tried;

-added them as a mod, forum - mod (name of forum) - I thought that was simple enough but no. xD
-edited the mod usergroup, because almost everything are set to no.
-edited the permissions (News Editor) of the actual forum (set the forum mod permissions to allow i.e edit/delete posts etc)

I've had no luck. As you can tell, I'm a total noob to the xF AdminCP. xD

The member in question, is a member of a group which grants access to a staff forum, News editor (should be the main usergroup) and moderating.

I don't understand why you're having such a hard time, it seems like you've been doing everything correctly..Just Display the Node tree and click "Add Moderator" on the forum that you want a moderator to be added.. Follow the link below and see if you can sort it. 🙂

If not, ask someone on the XenForo Support forums. 😛

but I tried that. I added the member as a mod of the specific section. I dunno why I'm still having issues. And I thought xF was easy to use...I guess not. xD

Why don't you go on the XenForo support forums, or ask your Partner to sort it? I'd probably be able to fix it but I can only fix it when I'm able to, I'm quite a hands on person. xD

I'll just wait for him then. I just wanted to do it myself. There's obviously something I'm doing wrong, but I can't quite see it.

Guess this will have to wait, because he's away. xD

thanks for the help, though! ^^

Happy to help, sorry I couldn't help sort it though. 😛

At least you'll learn. 🙂

Moving someone into the "Moderator" group doesn't make them a moderator, odd right? You have to edit their permissions to give them the mod rights. Here's how:

ACP > Users > Moderators > Forum Moderator

XF doesn't use usergroups like other forum software, it's just there to make the colored rank, rank image and such. I mean if you wanted to, you could just keep the user in their default "registered" group and just give them any permissions you want.
