Are you one that usually gets asthma yearly or more often? My asthma has hit pretty bad recently but I'm keeping up with the inhalers, cough drops and cough syrup and it's helping.

I can't remember having it this bad for a couple of years at least. Last year I just had a persistent cough that wouldn't go away for a couple of months.

This year has been more stressful trying to get rid of it quickly because I'm taking family to the movies tomorrow.

So it's probably allergy related asthma? What allergens make it worse, just the outdoor seasonal stuff?

I don't have asthma, but I remember taking some medicines for a cough that actually made my cough worse because I was allergic to an ingredient in them.

Edited to add that my husband has asthma and a doctor for Urgent Care prescribed him with a breathing treatment liquid...we got the little device that the liquid goes in off Amazon. It works when he's at his worst!

I've never had allergies from what I'm aware of. It could be just the stupid winter we get. One day it'll be warm and the next it'll be cold.

The only cause could be that when we were up in the north Island on holiday there was a completely different humidity. Down in the South Island it's much much colder.

I've still got the stupid cough. My doctor gave me some antibiotics and prednisone which haven't done anything. She said it was a chest infection 🤦‍♀️

I'm seeing the doctor next Monday but I really think she's going to run out of options soon for my cough.

The only thing I'm thankful for is that it doesn't wake me up during the night.

Sorry the cough is lingering! Do you sleep on an incline? Do showers help at all?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this my friend. I hope the doctor can figure out something. Is it worse during the Winter or Summer? I ask because I know it's currently Winter in your neck of the woods.

I get more sick in Winter. 🙁

I have a cushion I sleep on top of which helps but I find I get worse late afternoon into the evening. Almost to the point where I can't breath properly like last night.

Showers help briefly.

I was supposed to see the doctor yesterday about my asthma but didn't find out until I got there that the doctor wasn't there and they "forgot" to tell me. This was only a couple of minutes before I was meant to be seen 🤦‍♀️

They rescheduled it for Monday but still slack on their part.

That's awful! So disrespectful of the staff to not notify you!

Doctor has referred me for an X-ray to rule out anything too serious and has given me stronger antibiotics.

Do they think it's turned into pneumonia?

Yes, I do. It's not incredibly noticeable now that I am an adult, but it was quite severe when I was a child. I had to use an inhaler daily for many years. These days, I only really notice it when I am running, which I do as infrequently as possible. :3

Yeah thats true, does that mean "if" you do have it you would have to stay night(s) there or can it be like in the ER or something?
I think probably just a couple hours hopefully.

I hope so too my friend as I know a lot about hospitals and there not fun!! 🙁
When I was with my ex for two years she would go in quite a lot and they could never find out what the problem was. They were almost making out that she was making it up. She was very manipulative to me though so anything is possible .
