At what point is it when an admin and the staff is abusing their control in a community?

I've been on one forum where it's against the rules to post spoilers on films. It's an automatic warning. But it wasn't listed in their guidelines. The admin doesn't like it if you go above 10 or more posts a day. That wasn't on the guidelines either. Maybe I'm just aggravating someone and they were running me off. I don't know.

Most admins go over their heads too much when the site goes big and crazy. I mean not most but some. Same with gaming server admins, their powers go to their head and then go crazy about it to members. I do not like when they ban you or do things to members when that admin is doing it since they hat that person

Sure, that could be understandable depending on what kind of forum it is. Personally, I would never forbid something like that, instead I would encourage users to use the /spoiler tag. But either way, as an admin you really need to put stuff like that in your guidelines.

What, haha that's crazy!

If they have rules, it should be front & center for members to follow. It sounds a bit like they are controlling. I can understand the spoilers, but there is a tag for that. But not being able to above a certain number of posts, that is crazy.

What is the reason for an Admin to not want members to post over 10 posts a day (unless they're paying you per post)?

I guess it depends on what kind of actions they are doing to qualify as abuse.

Spoilers I get but a warning, maybe a bit harsh unless deliberate. They should make all members aware in that case.

Only 10 posts per day. I have never heard of that before. I would love to know why an admin wouldn't want any more than that unless it's a spam reasoning he/she is worried about.
