It seems that most forums like being unprofessional and I get that. It is a laid back and nice forum. But lets say you own a large GFX or Music forum, a forum with a topic; would you attach your signature to announcements?

I don't

I always have my signature on announcements-posts...not that I have the choice, but I like always having my sig attached.

I always have my signature attached. It's a little attachment of me. I've never had a complaint about my signature being in announcements.

IMO, you'd have to be pretty pedantic to care about such a thing.

A forum can be laid back, relaxed and professional at the same time. Professional doesn't have to be a bad thing. It really means that the forum is managed on a consistent basis (i.e. rules are applied to all members equally and no one gets special treatment) and people are treated with respect. Similar to the way a bar can be a fun and enjoyable place and professional at the same time.
