In the mean time check this setting under "security settings" in your acp. I doubt it is down to this but still worthwhile ruling it out

Cookies do affect a lot of things when they are wrong, including logins. Does this mean the issue is fixed? As you've provided a response which seems to me that it is, however your not the OP so im not too sure, can you please just verify?

I had some major PC problems, and this site wouldn't send me a password reminder e-Mail despite several attempts, when I got the PC fixed, I could login with this account, hope thats clear
