AutoMOD

I've never installed my own mod before, nor purchased a proper host till now. Is AutoMOD actually any good. I've heard stories of it screwing up so i just want to know what you all think.

If you're using a base skin it makes it quite easy, but even in user made skins there is normally little to no changes to be made by hand.

I think it makes things easier.

Right I have been using phpBB for a long time (just short of 10 years) and install mods etc all the time.

Auto mod is ok so long as you only install a handful of mods and that the mod is validated by phpBB.

It's is no way perfect and I always say stay clear and get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for you. The more mods you install the more things can go wrong, Automod is only designed to read the default files in their clean version if the mods you add code or change code this can cause conflicts and then is when your forum gets screwed up and if you don't know what has been added you don't know where to look for a fix.

If you do it manually and an error happens you can usually go and fix it a lot quicker.
