Well done for being another person who thinks their general discussion forum can succeed. You'll be disappointed. Try a specific subject matter for your site, you'll get much further.

Thanks for the input. After some personal thinking time, talking to some different people, and trying to make a decision I have decided to break into a specific subject.

The subject of the forum is being / has been changed to Facebook games. I know most of us have a Facebook and while we might not want to admit it, we find ourselves playing various games on there.
