Maybe some of you are going back to school or maybe you have kids who are returning to school now. OR you have some memories of school you'd like to share, you know like ditching class, or being sent to the Principal's Office?

Let's do some back to school talk!

My sister's partner's kid just went back and she is NOT happy about it, lol. Early mornings after getting to wake up whenever and play is not sitting well with her, and first grade is a struggle for her so far, because her teacher isn't all about play time like her kindergarten teacher was.

That is a huge adjustment from K to 1st!! I hated it myself but then loved 2nd grade.

I didn't have that adjustment as I didn't start school in the US until late 3rd grade, but hopefully she'll get used to it and have fun!

All of my children have successfully moved on in their lives except for one, who is currently in her final year. We will see what the expenses are this year as we no longer receive a list.

The final year is an exciting time for her. What plans does she have after that?

The summer flew by. I'm just aggravated by the school zones. It seems like I always end up going through town during that time frame.

I haven't been in school since 2011. But I remember I always took "web development" since the teacher would give like 5 minutes of lecture and then you can browse the web the rest of the period to "learn more about coding."

But most students just went to reddit, etc and did whatever they wanted as long as they didn't bypass school filters. EASY "A" elective.

She has made the decision to take a year off to determine her next course of action. Hopefully, it will be something that makes money.

If she uses the term "influencer" then run! Far away!

I've got two kids going back to school on the 2nd of September. And my third one going to school starting April 2025.

Are they looking forward to go back to classes?

You bet. Parents too. :tearsofjoy:

I only had one child and I was always sad when she had to go back to school. She's 30 now and I miss being involved in all that stuff such as after school activities, being a room parent, being a scout leader, etc....

Oh yeah, we're involved with a lot on school too. We have a parents volunteer group that do events and collect money for the school.

Our school year starts in February (varies sometimes but usually first or second week) and ends in December in New Zealand (week before Christmas). There's four terms which are put into about ten week blocks and then two weeks of school holidays.
