Backlinks

So I've been working on getting backlinks for my site but in my eagerness to do so I seem to be confused a bit. Should my backlinks be for my main url(domain) or my pages(in this case blog post urls). Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense. Maybe it doesn't matter but I just want to be sure about what I should be doing with backlinks. Everywhere I check skips over the basics...

For best practices you should only build a small amount of links at a time, buying or building thousands of links in one day will be a red flag to google.

I would recommend no more than 20-30 a day since it's a new site, you can increase this number gradually as the site becomes older.

I suggest focusing on building links to individual posts, on similar articles on other blogs. This way the links stay relevant.

Hmm seems I've been doing it right all along and I didn't even know it haha. I've been focusing on building links to posts. And strangely enough for the past week I have been going for around 20-40 backlinks spread among 2-4 pages (per day) and out of coincidence it is roughly what you suggest. Awesome.

Few basic tips about link building:

• Build back-links with home page as well as all inner pages
  Do not use keywords every time - use domain, long-tail, click here etc.
  Build both do-follow and no-follow back-links
  Collect back-links from related high quality (High PR and Domain Authority) sites

your back links should be for your main URL i mean domain like www. yoururl.com you have to focus on it. You also should create back links of inner pages which you want to see Google first page. Of course you have to create back link to your targeted keywords for that page.

You should optimize your domain pages also besides your main url.

Without a shadow of dobt, you should build up backlinks on homepage and other inner pages.

You should build back link to both main page and inner page. Get links from relevant website. A link from any site won't do good, a link from related site is good. It is more valuable.
