It might still be a good idea to have backups that are somewhere other than your host. What if his hosting service was hacked and everything was destroyed including the backups? It might seem unlikely but if Sony and NASA can be hacked, then most probably anyone can. Plus your host probably has his servers in a datacentre, if they were to suddenly go out of business the data could be gone through no fault of your friend.Cloverfield said:I'm good friends with the owner so he would tell me if he was going out of business so I could host elsewhere.
I may sound over cautious but unfortunately we live in uncertain times and it is better to be protected.
