Have you ever had any bad side effects from taking a medicine? What happened?

I started having anxiety/ panic attacks on an old anti depressant medication that I was taking. Turns out that my body was rejecting the medicine. There's a reason why most clinics take you off of it after 3 weeks. I had been on it for months when the bad side effects started happening.

I have degenerative disc disease which usually results in the patient getting passed on to the last chance hotel aka the pain management clinic. The consultant at one such clinic prescribed Gabapentin/Neurontin, predominantly used in the treatment for epilepsy. I was told to take one pill a day and ramp it up to four a day if I could tolerate that level of a dose.

I took one pill and I'm told I spent the next week trying to hide from the people that live in my fridge. I do remember hearing voices but the rest of that week is totally lost to me.
