Joined the host earlier this morning, got a domain for free(for life) and all that good stuff. Okay...Cool I was all excited. I paid the money and I am ready to get started building my site and all that stuff.

We spent a good part of the day(my friend and I) yesterday emailing back and forth discussing things with the owner for some pre-sale questions. At first we were a bit unsure being that they were new...but after thinking about it, I walked away with a good first impression. Emails were responded to quickly and pleasantly. So we gave a try.

So i sent a message this morning around 5 or 6 a.m. my time(11 a.m. their time which is during their business hours) just thanking them for the professionalism and respect.

Haven't gotten a reply back in almost 12 hours to my first email.

We go ahead and start attempting to work on the site/forum. Except I can't because the domain is saying it is still pending.

So I submit a ticket and asked a question that basically asked how long does it take for a new Domain to leave the pending status.

This was at 7 a.m.

No response. All we got was the standard automated message. "We received your ticket. You will get an email whene

We gave it about 6 or so hours and decided to show the guy i spoke to an email(Still haven't gotten a reply to my first email) asking about the issue with the domain and letting him know that a ticket was submitted.

Still No response.

Am I being paranoid or unreasonable or do I have legit cause for concern given that this is day 1? I hate to be the type of person to complain but given how small they claim to be(literally they are brand new) I wouldn't expect a long wait time for one simple question on how long it takes to have a domain approved after signing up for one.

I do have a 7 day money back gurantee

I would give a bit of time.
Based on the site, they're in UK time zone.

So you have to calculate the time difference, and if an urgent matter is occurring.

Domains can take a day or two to push over, depending on the registrar.

I prefer to separate the domains & the server host. This makes it especially easy to manage if you need to change servers or hosts. I host all my domains on 1and1 because they have a lot of cheap deals throughout the year. 0.99 for .COM/.NET, or 4.99.
Either way, beats paying the full price. But of course this is the first year only, still a good deal.

Then, you would point the domain to the server you want by editing the name servers, there should be a "DNS Management" option for your doomain.
You just need to edit those to the DNS of the server you're hosting it on, and you're good.

Keep me updated how you're doing with them, if you continue to be unsatisfied, I can recommend some hosts.

I'm gonna go with Paranoia here on my part 😀
Coincidentally enough as I posted this post, I got an email explaining it takes 12-48 hours

though i don't recall getting a temporary IP or anything like that.

Aki/Sapper i sent you both PM

Unless your dealing with a official company like hosting like godaddy, I think most hosting is a side business people do and with their daily lives along with other people on their hosting could take awhile getting back to you.

Yeah the pending domain transfer is completely normal so don't worry. I am sure it is just taking a little while for everything to be completely set up and fully functional.

Also, so you know: You actually can begin working on the website and you can just wait to upload it. Or if not because it is all things you need a database for you should work on something else. Stay productive and don't sit there and bight down all of your nails!

I wish you the best of luck and if you need help just PM me.

It can take about 24 to 48 hours for a domain to be populated onto other servers. Something they can't really do anything about other than tell you. Also I think they're probably busy but give them a chance, they probably do have other things to get on with as well. Just give them a break and wait.

It takes anything up to 48 hours for a domain to propagate.
As for replying to the support tickets, as Zinc said "people do get busy!"
Having said that, do they have any other methods of contact?
Is support tickets the only way you can get hold of them?
No live chat? Telephone? Even social networks?
Mhmm, I would wait a while longer though.
If no response at all, within 48 hours, I'd be pushed towards leaving.
Like you say, you have a 7 day money back guarantee.

What bugs me, is that they were all keen to talk during pre-sales.
But once they got your money they seemed to become invisible. 😕
