Why are things like links, general chat posts, and forgetting that ya may have posted something another time, all considered somewhat offensive?

I think alot of people may be afraid to post, because of not knowing what to say, or thinking their post will be locked..

Doing those things aren't seen as offensive but just pointless as if you have posted something before, people will have to post twice and somebody could say something to help you in one and then somebody else could waste 10 minutes helping you in the other when it has already been sorted but they didn't notice as it was in another topic and it is a waste of every bodies time.

I don't think people are afraid to post as f your topic gets locked who cares? Here for example i don't have it in for any user who i have locked their topic. I don't remember whose topics i locked after a minute i locked them as i forget about them and i never usually have a go at the person unless it was deliberate spam or something. I usually leave a kind friendly message saying why it was locked and not have ago at the member. Some forums do have a go at you everytime they lock a post and if they do you should not visit their forum anyway.

Oh, just like forums that ban users, pn the words of random fools that don't go to the site... That, to me shows ignorance.. 🙂 That's happened to me like 3 times... I have though of ways to ruin them, but I think it's better to just let them be dumb on their own terms...

Is that why ya need to post acouple times, before ya post, and why irrelevant links are such an annoyance alot of places.. 🙂

I bet that's y ya resigned as the main admin, and let EFC do that..

-lol-

The reason why people have to post a few times before being able to advertise is mainly to give our active members more of a change to be seen as by needing 4 posts to advertise less people sign up so less people advertise and that means that topics stay on the first page longer.
